BookMyShow Live Coldplay Music of the Spheres World Tour

On January 18, Mumbai witnessed history as Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres World Tour debuted in India at the D.Y. Patil Sports Stadium. Produced by BookMyShow Live in partnership with Live Nation, the event was a blend of soul-stirring music, breathtaking visuals, and emotional connection, cementing Coldplay’s legacy in Indian hearts.

Fans poured in from 3 PM, eagerly awaiting the band they had waited nearly a decade to see live again. The night opened with stellar performances by rising global star Elyanna, dynamic artist Shone, and India’s own Jasleen Royal, who became the first Indian artist to open for the tour. Jasleen returned to join Coldplay on the soulful track We Pray, creating a moment of pride and emotion.

As Coldplay took the stage with Higher Power, the stadium erupted in cheers. They delivered an extraordinary set blending tracks from their album Music of the Spheres, classics like Fix You, Yellow, and Paradise, and new hits from Moon Music such as feelslikeimfallinginlove. Chris Martin’s Hindi remarks— “Mumbai main aa kar humein bohot khushi ho rahi hai”—and playful jokes, including one about Jasprit Bumrah, charmed the audience.

The band’s signature visual artistry elevated the experience with LED wristbands, fireworks, and cosmic-themed props. Martin paused A Sky Full of Stars to urge fans to pocket their phones, fostering a heartfelt acoustic singalong that turned the stadium into a galaxy of voices and lights.

Fans lined up hours ahead for exclusive merchandise, which sold out swiftly. As the show ended with feelslikeimfallinginlove, dedicated to their fans, the crowd erupted in cheers, marking a transformative night of love and unity.

Mumbai now awaits Coldplay’s second show on January 21, while Ahmedabad prepares to host two record-breaking concerts on January 25 and 26 at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

The event was a blend of soul-stirring music, breathtaking visuals, and emotional connection, cementing Coldplay’s legacy in Indian hearts.
