Me?Gong Festival 2024 Europe Gajendra Verma Jenjal, Baljek Airport Echoes of Traditions

The Me·Gong Festival 2024, organized by the Department of Tourism, Government of Meghalaya, will be held on November 29 & 30, 2024, at Jenjal, Baljek Airport, West Garo Hills, Tura, Meghalaya. The festival, with the theme ‘Echoes of Traditions’, aims to celebrate and showcase the rich cultural heritage of the Garo people and Northeast India.

This two-day event will feature performances by Swedish rock band ‘Europe’, Indus Creed, Gajendra Verma, and Euphoria, along with a DJ set by Uddita Goswami. Local musical talents such as Da Suraka and Summer Salt will also perform, highlighting the region’s vibrant music scene.

Beyond music, the festival will offer a variety of activities, including traditional games, sports competitions, and exhibitions featuring handlooms, handicrafts, and local cuisine. A fashion show will display traditional Garo dresses and handwoven fabrics, showcasing the region’s craftsmanship and cultural heritage.

The Me·Gong Festival aims to create a platform for local artisans and performers while promoting the preservation of Garo traditions. It will bring together locals, visitors, and artists, creating an opportunity to explore and experience the unique cultural aspects of the region.
