Echoes of Earth 2024 Mumbai Delhi

Echoes of Earth, India's most eco-conscious music festival, continues to inspire with its blend of music, art, and conservation. This year’s theme, "Symphony of Seasons", celebrates the essential role of seasons in shaping our natural world, highlighting nature’s resilience and promoting sustainable practices. Now in its seventh edition, the festival offers India’s largest musical gathering with a mix of diverse genres, styles, instruments, and cultural influences.

On November 15 in Delhi, Echoes of Earth will host an educational showcase exploring the city's urban ecology as a reflection of seasonal changes. Conservationist Benhail Antao, host of National Geographic's "Snakes SOS: Goa’s Wildest," will lead a session titled "Coexistence with Urban Wildlife." Following this, a panel discussion, "Seasonal Sentinels: Trees as Indicators of Change in Delhi’s Urban Landscape," will be presented by WWF-India. Moderated by Vijay Dhasmana, an eco-restoration expert, the panel will feature insights from Neha Sinha, author and WWF-India's Head of Conservation Partnerships; Anita Mani, publisher at Indian Pitta Books; and urban ecologist Vallari Sheel. This discussion will spotlight seasonal transformations of urban trees, focusing on sustainable actions to protect Delhi’s natural heritage. The day will conclude with a jazz performance by Vieux Farka Touré, renowned as "The Hendrix of the Sahara" for his innovative blend of Desert Blues with global influences.

In Mumbai, a preview event on November 17 will start with a session titled "Monsoon Serpents: Unveiling the Misunderstood Reptiles," followed by Shaaz Jung’s "Nature’s Symphony: A Year in Colour," showcasing visual storytelling through wildlife photography. A session on coastal biodiversity, "Know Your Fish," led by Divya, will also be featured. The event's highlight is the panel discussion "Welcoming Winged Visitors: Protecting Migratory Birds in Mumbai through Sustainable Action," led by WWF-India experts. The day will close with another captivating performance by Vieux Farka Touré, weaving the festival’s message of conservation into an unforgettable musical experience.

Echoes of Earth is set to be a remarkable occasion, uniting music and environmental advocacy, inspiring meaningful conversations on preserving our ecosystem.
