HCL Group Concludes Nine-Day International Bridge Championship in New Delhi

HCL Group International Bridge Championship
HCL Group, global conglomerate announced the completion of the 21st HCL International Bridge Championship, held at The Leela Ambience Convention Hotel. The nine-day tournament featured over 1,000 players from 180 teams across 12 countries, competing for a prize purse of Rs. 2.7 crore (USD 325,000). This event is recognized as one of the significant bridge championships in India and has been included in the World Bridge Tour as a ‘Category B’ event.
The tournament took place from 14th September to 22nd September, with participants from India, the USA, Norway, Australia, New Zealand, Italy, Russia, Israel, UAE, Kenya, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh. Events included ‘Team of Four Gold,’ ‘Team of Four Silver,’ ‘Open Match Point Pairs,’ ‘IMP Pairs,’ and ‘Mixed IMP Pairs.’
Winners of the Championship:
- Team of Four Gold: Team WHAM from Australia & New Zealand, awarded Rs. 44 Lakh.
- Team of Four Silver: Team RSCS from India, awarded Rs. 16 Lakh.
- Open Pairs - Gold: S Sunderram and P Sridharan, awarded Rs. 12.8 Lakh.
- Open Pairs - Silver: Vinod Kumar Shaw and Sanjit Dey, awarded Rs. 2 Lakhs.
- IMP Pairs: TV Ramani and Subhash Ramani, awarded Rs. 2 Lakhs.
- Mixed Pairs: Gopika Tandon & Arun Jain, awarded Rs. 2.5 Lakhs.
Kiran Nadar, Chairperson of the Organising Committee, said, “I would like to congratulate all the players for their outstanding performance in this tournament.
