The three-day Natya Rang Utsav organized by Rama Theatre Natya Vidya Sansthan (RATNAV) is going to be held at The Shri Ram Centre in Mandi House, New Delhi from October 5 to 7, 2023.

The first play ‘Yam Putra’ written by well-known writer Vikas Kumar Jha, which will be staged at RATNAV Natya Rang Utsav is the story of discrimination revolving around a Boy from the Mahapatra community adopted by a Hindu Brahmin family. Yam Putra is a compelling narrative that delves into the profound societal discrimination experienced by the Mahapatra community in India.

The second play ‘Shaista’, is the story of a young girl’s defiance against the practice of selling young Muslim girls in marriage in Hyderabad and Shekhwati. Shaista is a compelling narrative that underscores the principles of women's empowerment, the transformative potential of digital technology, and the fundamental constitutional rights of every individual.

The third play and final play is ‘Sultana’, which is a story about the courage and social reforms within the color-dying community of Rajasthan. The play is a poignant and powerful portrayal of a young woman’s struggle for freedom and justice in the face of oppressive societal norms.  The play is not just a story about one woman’s struggle, but a reflection of the more significant societal issues of gender inequality, social pressure, and the struggle for justice and freedom.

Rama Pandey, Founder, RATNAV said, “Theatre is the reflection of our society, it should be preserved at all cost. The Time has come when the young brigade of India should start considering theatre-going as an essential part of healthy grooming of mind as it encompasses many forms of arts, especially communication, and expressions. RATNAV is committed to preserving the arts and traditions of both rural and urban India.”
