Jindal Stainless Northeast Frontier Railways Maiden half marathon
Jindal Stainless has partnered with Northeast Frontier Railways to organise a series of half marathons in the north-eastern part of the country. Aligned with Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s vision for developing northeast, this first-of-its-kind JSL NFR Northeast Half Marathon is aimed at promoting sports and catalysing development in the region. The first-ever half marathon series in the region will kick-off in Guwahati, Assam on February 5, 2023, followed by Darjeeling, West Bengal on February 25 and Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh on March 12.
A joint initiative of Jindal Stainless and NFR, the marathon is supported by Sports Authority of India and Government of Assam. The inaugural marathon will be flagged-off in Guwahati by Hon'ble Chief Minister of Assam, Shri. Himanta Biswa Sarma, The 21.1 km long JSL NFR Northeast Half Marathon will begin at 5:30 a.m. from the NFRSA Stadium in Guwahati, passing through Phani Sarna Park, Jalukbari PP, and Hajo Road before returning to the NFRSA Stadium.
