Gitikka Ganju Dhar Sherpa Meeting G20 Presidency
Gitikka Ganju Dhar was roped in to host the cultural showcase events of the first Sherpa Meeting under India's G20 Presidency in Udaipur, early December, 2022. India's G20 Presidency is an important opportunity to guide the world. Ofcourse, this period of India's G20 Presidency promises to throw up a bevy of opportunities for India's experiential sector. But what is very critical is that apart from raking in the profits, we also commit ourselves to putting up and out the very best we can deliver, showcase India to the world like never before.
The theme of India's G20 Presidency is ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, One Earth, One Family, One Future’. The esteemed delegates from various nations were spellbound with the cultural presentations.
The Rajasthan showcase at Jag Mandir was called Katha Rajasthan and the India showcase at Manik Chowk, City Palace was called Sarvesham Bharat. Both the events brought alive the grandeur and glory of the folk, tribal and classical dance and music forms and traditional wear of India.
Gitikka is often roped in to play emcee at Government-led, large-format events. Her vibe and aura were truly enjoyed by the esteemed audience.
Commenting on the same, Gitikka said, “When I stand on a stage for the Government of India, I stand as citizen India, participating and contributing towards the growth of my country.”
Q. Having hosted the Sherpa Meeting under India's G20 Presidency in Udaipur, what is your take on the initiative? How do you think it will help the event industry to grow?
Like many a optimistic in the Indian sub-continent, I too believe that India is headed towards the Amrit Kaal, towards being a land that will truly be a cradle for all things good, the elements of life that a human needs to live a happy, safe and fulfilling life. I often hear sentences like India will be the next superpower, the most powerful economy in the world, so on and so forth. But, what we all need to also focus on and believe is that India will be the foremost land of bliss and joy, we will help guide humanity towards spiritual awakening, enlightenment and transformation. In my view, that is why India's G20 Presidency is an important opportunity to guide the world. Ofcourse, this period of India's G20 Presidency promises to throw up a bevy of opportunities for India's experiential sector. But what is very critical is that apart from raking in the profits, we also commit ourselves to putting up and out the very best we can deliver, showcase India to the world like never before. And do remember, they may forget what you did, said or showed - but they will never forget how you made them feel. That is the essence of India. It is time to take the world towards being One Earth, One Family, One Future - Vasudeva Kutumbakkam. Harmony among these elements - within us and between us - is essential for our physical, social and environmental well-being. India's G20 Presidency will work to promote this universal sense of one-ness.
Q. How different is it to government events as compared to other corporate or entertainment events?
Very, very different. The stakes are high for the agency, for the bureaucracy and for me too. You got to be a Minnal Murali, all the time! Do the undoable, deliver the undeliverable and execute the unexecutable. It's an intense, complex and strenuous ride, but in the end, it's all worth it. So, the difference is - I thoroughly enjoy hosting entertainment events, I relish hosting corporate events and I feel responsible hosting a government event, if that explains it. I know many people may not believe it, when I say this, but for me it has gone beyond performing to further my career. When I stand on a stage for the Government of India, I stand as a citizen of India, participating and contributing towards the growth of my country. Yes, I charge a neat fee for the focus, discipline and experience and skill I bring to the table. But more than that, I think what the audience and attendees can feel is my heart and its vibrations. That, no fees can buy.
