Embassy of Spain in India organizes a 9-day Ibero-American Film Festival in Delhi

Embassy of Spain in India Ibero-American Film Festival
The Embassy of Spain in India has organized the Ibero-American Film Festival in Delhi in collaboration with Ibero-American Embassies. The opening ceremony saw the premiere of “El Buen Patrón”, a Spanish movie (The Good Boss) held at the Cinépolis, DLF Avenue Mall, Saket in the presence of Honourable Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture, Smt. Meenakshi Lekhi and the Ambassadors of Ibero-American to India.
Honourable Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture, Smt. Meenakshi Lekhi, said, "It's vital to understand other country’s cultures and learn about their uniqueness. I am delighted to have such incredibly skilled filmmakers showcasing their work to Indian audience.”
The opening screening is followed by a 9-day Festival until 2 July at the Cinepolis, DLF Avenue Mall, Saket and Instituto Cervantes screening 16 films from the Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Chile, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Guatemala, México, Panamá, Perú, Portugal, Uruguay, Venezuela and Spain.
Chargée d’Affaires of the Embassy of Spain in India, Montserrat Momán Pampillo said, “This Festival is a result of long-standing collaboration among the Ibero-American Embassies in Delhi coming together to share our cultural heritage through cinema, with the large Indian audience of all ages. This Festival has been carefully curated by the Ibero-American Embassies in India with the purpose of opening a window to our sceneries, colors, emotions and values.”
The Film Festival exhibits and celebrates films from Latin America, Spain and Portugal that possess a high-level of artistry and are otherwise noteworthy for communicating a meaningful and powerful cultural exchange.
Some of the movies that will be screened during the festival are Pensando EN EL/ Thinking of Him from Argentina, Encanto from Colombia, Inocencia from Cuba, Ana. Sem Titulo from Brazil, A Metamorfose Dos Pássaros from Portugal, Una Película Sobre Parejas from Dominican Republic, Un Destello Interior by Venezuela, Porque Todas las Quiero Cantar from Uruguay, Violeta al fin from Costa Rica, Pensando En Él from Argentine Republic, Arana from Chile, Mejor No Hablar from Ecuador, Septiembre, un llanto en silencio from Guatemala, GÜEROS from Mexico, Chicama from Peru, El Buen Patrón from Spain, Humanpersons from Portugal, and Porque Todas Las Quiero Cantar: Un Homenaje A La Canción Rochense from Uruguay.
