Babasaheb - The Grand Musical Samit Garg E-Factor Entertainment Roshan Abbas

Samit Garg’s E-Factor Entertainment produced and managed ‘Babasaheb: The Grand Musical’, majestic series of plays on the life of Dr. BR Ambedkar by Delhi Government from 25 February 2022 to 12 March 2022 at Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium.

Helmed by Roshan Abbas as its creative director, the musical extravaganza has been directed by Mahua Chauhan and actor Rohit Roy is playing the role of Babasaheb along with Teekam Joshi as narrators.

One of the highlights of the play is its sets, Art Director Omung Kumar has created a 100 ft. stage to give an international theatre experience to Delhities. The grand theatrical production witnesses over 10 songs (created by Delhi-based folk-rock band Indian Ocean merged with Vineet Panchhi and Kausar Munir’s lyrics) and 160 dancers and supporting actors attempting to revive the portrait of a man whose criticism for the chasm separating the social classes led him to fight for a number of causes, including water satyagraha and women empowerment.

Samit Garg, Event Producer, Babasaheb-The Grand Musical said, “Baba Saheb is an inspiration for our country and when Delhi Government selected us to be a part of their concept to spread awareness on Babasaheb through Musical, we were delighted. We were clear that we wanted to tell this story through a larger-than-life production. We identified the right talent for each aspect - like Omung Kumar to create impactful sets to give an international feel, Indian Ocean for creating music that touches senses in the right manner. We have taken care of minute details like lighting and video projections to give a cinematic feel on a grand scale."
