EVENTFAQS Media reached out to stakeholders to understand when they expect a return to ‘normal’ physical events and their ‘highest high’ and ‘lowest low’ of 2021.
Weddings were a segment that went on despite the pandemic, albeit in intimate format. For Yolo Events and Entertainment, 2021 has been a year to remember, says Jueta Hemdev, Founder and CEO.

Despite the pandemic, 2021 surely brightened things for Yolo Entertainment & Weddings. One thing the pandemic wasn’t capable of stopping was weddings. We had the opportunity to organise a number of weddings from different cultures, in different cities. Our highest high amongst these was when we were given a chance to plan an outstation outdoor wedding at the peak of the pandemic. It seemed almost impossible at first but as they say, ‘All things built in the name of love always bloom.’ We had a short notice to plan the entire affair. We pondered whether our vendors would be fully on board. But as we took this faith of leap or should we say love, everything fell in place perfectly. The entire wedding set up was so flavourfully traditional, just what our client had dreamt of. The venue was lit with ceremony decorations and pretty lights. The menu was elaborate and the stage was set. The photographer captured every special detail and the bride and groom never looked happier. There was customised décor, a happening dance floor, buffet points, decorated tables and chairs and ecstatic faces only.
Our lowest low was actually a high in itself. Against our imagination, there were hardly any days when we were free at Yolo Entertainment & Weddings. Even though the pandemic was around, clients kept approaching us and we had the opportunity to deliver a mixed bag of events. 2021 has been a year to remember!
While 2020 and 2021 were slightly tough on the weddings front, 2022 looks like a much brighter and hopeful year for all those who are planning weddings and those who plan to get married. In the last two years, people suffered a sort of ‘wedding postponement fatigue’ which is now luckily fading off. With most of the population being vaccinated, you can now plan your dream wedding with complete ease. Unhesitatingly inviting all the guests on your guest list, hosting a pre and post-wedding party, setting up food that’s no less than a feast and not making any compromises on your big day. As travel has opened up globally in many countries, the number of destination weddings are on the rise too. So basically, with the necessary precautions taken and with the correct government norms followed, everyone can celebrate their big fat wedding with big fat smiles!
