Over 2,000 Attend Debut Indie Music Fest ‘Circle of Love’

The debut edition of Circle of Love (COL) Festival on 15 and 16 October 2021 saw more than 2,000 attendees come to witness over 25 artistes performing across two stages in Chennai.
Conceptualised by Sameer Sethi of Life in Technicolor and curated by Manny (underground music expert and DJ), COL Festival was positioned as a first-of-its-kind premier boutique music, dance and arts festival with a mission to nurture and promote homegrown talent.
The lineup included Stalv art, Skip, Mali, Nikhil Chinapa, Kayan,Manny, Jbabe, Henny, Bread & Jam, Sharan Nichani, Sneha, Booby, Mitra Visvesh, Aamer Peeran and Blackfern.
Besides live acts, bands and DJs, the fest also featured an ‘All Talent Open-Mic’ with singers/songwriters, a rap cipher, instrumentalists, slam poetry and comedy talent judged by experts from each genre and games including Fooseball, Darts and Mega Jenga.
The fest featured electronic sound bars, surface mapping as per the theme and music for each day, with two decks playing different genres of music.
Sameer Sethi, Founder, Circle of Love festival said, “We’ve always believed that India’s independent music scene deserves major events, on par with other genres and our boutique festival was the first of its kind to be held in Chennai. We aimed to put Chennai on the map as a destination for lovers of Indie music! Our work as an organisation is all about building community in the music scene and creating opportunities for talents both established and new. With the success of our very first festival, which provided such eclectic content and quality of audience, we are now sure that Chennai has made a mark in the books of Indie music fest.”
