PVR Cinemas has announced a deal with the International Cricket Council for live-screening of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2021 matches in India. The cinema chain will screen India’s matches, the semi-finals and final across over 75 cinemas in 35 Indian tier 1 and tier 2 cities.

Gautam Dutta, CEO, PVR Cinemas, said, “We are extremely happy to know about the association with ICC. The big screen offers a unique opportunity to maximise the coverage of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. Cricket and movies complement each other as in India they are considered as two religions that unite the country. Movie watching and cricket watching is a shared entertainment experience and when it is magnified on the big screen leads to an adrenaline rush from fans quite similar to a stadium.”

With cinemas operating at restricted capacity and operating hours (barring Telangana, Rajasthan and Karnataka which have allowed 100 percent seating) currently, PVR expects screening of T20 matches on the large screen to help bring back audiences.

India matches, two semi-finals and the final will be screened in over 75 cinemas across 35 Indian tier 1 and tier 2 cities.
