Entertainment Content Owners Association
The Indian Film Exporters Association has been renamed as the Entertainment Content Owners Association of India (ECOA), with a new logo to reflect the new identity. With this, the association has expanded its scope to include TV, OTT, and digital in its purview with membership open to these platforms across languages, genres, and formats.
ECOA said it will also create B2B opportunities for content owners to promote and monetise their content globally through their website and platforms.
An official statement added that the association has been coordinating with state and central governments, legislative authorities, and other related departments to make representations for tariff reductions and revisions, taxation, levies, GST, and other policy matters, among other things.
Sushilkumar Agrawal, President, ECOA, said, “We are extremely happy to rechristen and relaunch ourselves and outspread our services to more platforms. The landscape of entertainment has changed drastically in the current times both in terms of production and exhibition, hence bringing its own set of challenges along with it. We at ECOA invite all of you to be a part of our illustrious family and trust us with our history and expertise in safeguarding your content. So that you can focus on continuing what you are best in creating cutting edge content and entertaining mankind globally.”
ECOA intends to approach the Information and Broadcasting Ministry to request that it be designated as an enlisted association for content registration and other related activities.
Now includes TV, OTT, and digital in its purview with membership open to content owners across languages, genres and formats.
