Global food business exhibition network SIAL by Comexposium has announced a new vertical ‘Food Varanasi by SIAL’ from 15 to 17 November 2021. The exhibition encompassing awards, conferences, B2B meetings and cooking demonstrations will be hosted at the Deendayal Trade Centre & Museum in association with Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA).
The first edition of SIAL India was hosted in 2018 in Delhi. The 2020 edition, which was postponed on account of Covid19 to 2021, is slated for December. The brand launched its first regional exhibition in association with the Meghalaya government in 2019, branded ‘North East Food Show’. Inter Ads Exhibitions is the Indian partner for SIAL events in the country.
Amit Lohani, Founder Director, Forum of Indian Food Importers (FIFI), said,“We warmly welcome the first edition of Food Show Varanasi by SIAL in association with APEDA. FIFI is pleased to support this very international yet Indian event. During previous iterations, we found the SIAL India show, as a distinctive platform helping to find synergies between the Indian market and the world, which is the core objective for us at FIFI too”.
Adeline Vancauwelaert, SIAL Paris, SIAL India and All4pack Event Director at Comexposium, said, “We are very pleased to announce the launch of Food Varanasi by SIAL and APEDA. SIAL is extending its footprint in India thanks to a strong partnership with APEDA. After New Delhi and Shillong, we are very pleased to offer a new business platform for the Indian food community. This three-day BtoB event will be activities oriented to better serve all the stakeholders.”
Rajan Sharma, Director, Inter Ads Exhibitions and Steering Committee Member, Council of Indian Exhibition Organisers (CIEO), said, “Since the launch of SIAL in India we have seen a great response from the market. The growth plan was always to take SIAL India to different states/cities to better serve the Indian market. After Delhi and Shillong we studied the market and realised the need by the market players to have Varanasi Food Show by SIAL in association with APEDA. I am pleased to announce this vertical and look forward to a great exhibition.”
Dr M Angamuthu, IAS, Chairman, APEDA, said, “We are excited to play the role of executive supporter for the Food Show Varanasi organised jointly by APEDA & SIAL. We expect the three-day event scheduled to be held at Trade Facilitation and Exhibition Centre, Varanasi during November 15-17 2021, will bring in all the key industry stakeholders under one roof. The event will host activities including buyer seller meetings, innovation awards, chef competition among many others. We anticipate that the food show would not only bring recognition to Varanasi but also permanently find a place in the annual calendar of exhibitors and key stakeholders of the industry.”
The three-day event follows the launch of North East Food Show in Meghalaya in 2019 and SIAL India in Delhi a year prior.
