As the second wave of the Covid19 pandemic in the country continues to slow down, many states have eased event restrictions leading to a sigh of relief for the industry. EVENTFAQS Media reached out to industry stakeholders to get their view of the current situation in their state and events happening there.
In this part of the series, we asked Raghav Roy Kapur, Founder, Livewire Events & Promos, about the level of unlocking, SOPs and events happening in Pune.
Speaking about the SOPs imposed by the government, Roy said, “Government has implemented strict measures to regulate the spread of the pandemic by announcing strict lockdown on weekends. With reference to events, up to 50 persons are currently permitted to attend weddings/events with appropriate social distancing and other standard norms that need to be followed like wearing mask, washing hands, etc.”
“As it stands, there are most definitely no large events currently being planned. Although, the real estate sector is taking the leap and has begun with some small initiatives, meetings and activations. As an agency, Livewire has several hybrid / virtual events in the pipeline and we just finished a large hybrid project. Since, malls, multiplexes, corporates and educational institutions remain shut, the on-ground activations are very few, but most brands are moving to digital initiatives,” Roy added.
The Pune ‘unlock’ order issued by the government on 11 July 2021 read, ‘’Since there has been no change in the weekly positivity rate, Pune will continue to be in ‘Level 3’ of the Maharashtra government’s five-level unlock plan. Also, if there is an upward trend in number of coronavirus positive cases, the district disaster management authority will impose higher level of restrictions.”
With the city in Level 3 of Maharashtra’s unlock plan and attendant Covid19-related restrictions, no large events are happening, says Raghav Roy Kapur of Livewire Events & Promos.
