As the second wave of the Covid19 pandemic in the country continues to slow down, many states have eased event restrictions leading to a sigh of relief for the industry. EVENTFAQS Media reached out to industry stakeholders to get their view of the current situation in their state and events happening there.
We asked about the level of unlock and SOPs, events happening in the state/city and more.
Ankit Srivastava, Founder and CEO, Occasions Entertainment from Rajasthan, said, “The unlock is aligned with the guidelines in other states and at the union level. There were strict restrictions when cases were at their peak and are now relaxed with decrease in cases. The same was the case in terms of restrictions for events, multiplexes, malls etc. Hotels and restaurants are allowed to function till 8pm where at least 60 percent of the staff has taken the Covid19 vaccine.”
Speaking about the SOPs imposed by the government, Srivastava said, “Key rules and regulations relevant to our industry include limitation on 25 attendees for any events and weddings. However, the number of guests can be increased to a maximum of 50 on the basis of a review by the area sub-divisional magistrate. We are also ensuring Covid-appropriate behavior at the place of event and vaccine compliance for all the working staff. Also, auditoriums and exhibitions are allowed but can be operated with 50 percent strength.”
He also underlined the importance of events and tourism to the state of Rajasthan: “Rajasthan's economy has always relied on events and tourism. The culture and heritage makes it a hub for each section of clients be it for weddings or corporate. The 'Athithi Devo Bhava' culture has always kept Rajasthan on top of clients’ preference.”
While there has been a massive loss to the event economy of the state due to Covid, Srivastava notes that slowly hotels and the event industry are re-opening but keeping client safety as priority.
“As a socially responsible entrepreneur my aim is to ensure that we provide high quality experience with utmost safety to our clients and partners. I along with my team have started to carefully curate events from this month (July 2021) onwards. We are also engaging with partners and clients to curate the rich Rajasthan experience once again.”
Rajasthan government had last issued Covid-related event guidelines on 10 July 2021.
