BookMyShow’s Covid19 vaccination drive across India for the entertainment industry, corporates and residential societies which kicked off two weeks ago, has facilitated 1.45 lakh jabs so far.
The ticketing portal has been organising vaccination drives at its Mumbai office for employees and families from event firms and film companies. The drives are open to partners, vendors, promoters, artistes and event organisers.
Employees and family members of several media and entertainment firms including PVR Cinemas, Percept, Balaji Telefilms, Motley Theatre Group, 70 Event Media Group (70 EMG), Hungama Digital Media and Production Crew, to name a few, have been inoculated through the BookMyShow vaccination drive.
Apart from Mumbai, the entertainment industry inoculation drive is likely to be extended to BookMyShow’s Delhi, Bengaluru and Hyderabad offices, according to the company.
Further, BookASmile, the charity initiative of BookMyShow, is working towards the inoculation of 1,111 underprivileged artistes from low-income communities in live entertainment, whose livelihoods have been adversely impacted due to the pandemic. BookASmile has collaborated with Mumbai-based NGO Accha Karo Foundation for the same.
BookMyShow has undertaken a pan-India community Covid19 vaccination drive for the entertainment industry, corporate India and residential societies.
The first phase of the pan-India vaccination drive covered Mumbai and Kolkata. It will expand next to cover Delhi and Rajasthan.
The ticketing portal partnered with hospitals and healthcare facilities across cities while providing the logistics, technology and manpower support, access validation and on-ground infrastructure assistance to medical staff and consumers to book their slots.
Partners include Apollo Clinics, Medica Superspeciality Hospital, AMRI Hospitals, Peerless Hospital and Techno India DAMA Healthcare & Medical Centre.
Anil Makhija, COO - Live Entertainment and Venues, BookMyShow, said, “Over the past 15 months, the pandemic has had a devastating impact on India’s entertainment industry. As the sector readies to bounce back and prepare for a strong recovery cycle, we are glad to be able to play our part and support the government’s effort to fight the pandemic by undertaking this widespread vaccination drive to help vaccinate the entertainment industry along with its performers and artists as also the larger community of consumers and corporate India. Backed by a robust technology platform and our experience in on-ground event management infrastructure, BookMyShow aims to provide a seamless and strong aid to the people driving India’s entertainment industry, who have been instrumental in fulfilling the entertainment needs of millions of Indians. We are thrilled to have been able to facilitate the inoculation of over 1,45,000 people in less than two weeks and hope to increase our reach and work in the days to come.”

The platform will also enable API integration with the CoWIN app to book vaccine slots and access certificates on the BookMyShow website and app, informed an official statement.
Accurate allocation of stock basis pre-registrations along with the firm’s experienced event operation skills helped facilitate smoother inoculation drives avoiding any delays, shortages and crowding at private Covid vaccination centres, the statement added.
The ticketing portal’s vaccination drive covers the entertainment industry including film production companies and live events, besides corporates and residential societies across India.
