Remainder of IPL 2021 in UAE; More Time Sought on India Hosting T20 WC

IPL 2021 BCCI T20 WC

After the suspension of the ongoing Indian Premier League due to a number of Covid19 cases inside the bio-bubble in India, Indian Premier League Governing Council (IPL GC) and Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced on Saturday, 30 May 2021, that the remaining matches of Vivo IPL 2021 will take place in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the months of September and October this year.

The decision was taken at a Special General Meeting (SGM) held virtually, where members unanimously agreed on the way forward.

The BCCI SGM further authorised the office bearers to seek more time from the ICC to take a call on hosting of ICC T20 World Cup 2021.  India has the hosting rights for the T20 World Cup, scheduled for October and November 2021.
