OnStage Experiences LLP Parexel V-Fest

The Indian arm of biopharmaceutical services major Parexel hosted its annual employee get-together virtually this year through a series of events. 

This event, which has traditionally been hosted annually in Chandigarh, Hyderabad and Bengaluru where the company’s teams are based, took the virtual route in 2021 thanks to the pandemic. The show was themed ‘The Parexel V-Fest – Care, Connect, Celebrate’.

OnStage Experiences LLP won the mandate following a pitch. Parexel’s brief sought a format, platform, virtual engagement activities and execution plan that would not deprive its teams of the fun and the feeling of pride to be part of the company.

A curtain raiser was conducted on the OnStage Experiences virtual platform, that brought streaming and engagement like polling, quizzing and lucky draws onto one screen. The curtain raiser had over 3,000 of Parexel’s employees logging in. V-Fest was kicked off by the company’s Country Head Sanjay Vyas, and saw stand-up comedian Rahul Dua’s act and DJ K-os performing live.

A specially created Parexel theme song was also launched at the curtain raiser on the theme of ‘Care, Connect, Celebrate’. Employees were invited to vote for who they wanted to see perform live during the V-Fest finale. This poll was designed to let employees know that they were being heard and that the leadership team cared for what they thought and felt. The artiste chosen by the people for the finale was Shaan.

The following weeks saw other virtual events such as laughter yoga over Zoom conducted by Archana Rao, Laughter Yoga Master Trainer and Musical Housie with live performers singing. The highlight event was a Parexel Talent Show which was held over Zoom that saw dancers, singers, musicians from the company perform live for their colleagues. The top three performers from the talent show also got to perform as part of the ‘V-Fest Finale’.

The finale was held on OnStage digital events platform where the 3D platform gave the user an immersive experience of being at an event. The platform had a virtual walkthrough to an events lobby space, a fun zone to network and connect with others who had logged on, a selfie zone to capture the moment and the main auditorium space with a grand stage and rendered graphics. Shooting for the finale was done in Bengaluru and Mumbai, with the show being hosted by Madonna Tixeira.

The Parexel V-Fest Finale saw over 4,000 employees logging in. The two-hour virtual event entertained the audience with content, digital graphics, engaging activities, and a live performance by Shaan at the end. The first ever Parexel India Annual Awards was also announced as part of the event.
