Experienced wedding planners Touchwood Group recently planned and executed a desi fairy-tale wedding for Mehandi Aggarwal and Shivam Saraf at The Oberoi Rajvilas, Jaipur, while implementing a strict set of safety measures mandated by the pandemic. The wedding struck the perfect balance between modern and traditional elements for the celebration of each function.

The wedding functions started with ‘Gaur’ where the decor consisted of a chaddar and flowers that were placed behind the bride’s seat, keeping it simple and homely.

Cosy and exuding summery, Boho vibes, the alfresco lunch/bhaat event consisted of tepee tents, an entrance decorated with Turkish kilims, pampas grass, beige and ivory drapes paired with macramé and rustic wooden furniture that elevated the whole ambience.

For the ‘Sangeet’ ceremony, the bride wanted a lounge vibe balanced by homely elements. To make this vision come true, each table was adorned with unconventional pieces like type-writers and many other quirky showpieces. Additionally, the team organized live teppanyaki in the middle of the lounge to give it more of a personalized restaurant feel.

A ‘Haldi’ sans yellow!

For the ‘Haldi’ ceremony, the decor included fruits and birds of paradise instead of the traditional all-yellow decor. To ensure the chosen theme, there was no yellow allowed at the function, and in place of haldi, they used fruit pulp in coconut shells. Dress code for the event was peach and pink hues.

Finally, the wedding décor had four fresh banana trees with gold brass leaves, brass pots with lotuses and rajanigandha blooms to resemble a garden. Additionally, the pond was also decorated with lotuses, candles and diyas. For the seating, the amphitheatre was used to the fullest so that the guests could have a clear view of the wedding. The highlight of the evening was Siddharth Mohan, who performed at the ‘Phere’ for the bride and groom.

Following a deep purple and burgundy colour story, the reception emanated royal yet cosy vibes. Adorned with plush velvet drapes, mirror-clad walls, paintings and love quotes, it was a glamorous occasion that was punctuated with a stunning performance by singer Jubin Nautiyal.

High praise for Touchwood

Speaking about the wedding planners, bride Mehandi Aggarwal said, “Our wedding planner was Touchwood Group. Oh God! I can go on and on praising them. They are family to us now. I have been told by all my guests - and when I say all, I actually mean all - the planning and management was seamless.”

“I just had to utter what I needed and those people got it done. Trust me, my mother and my father are excessively particular about things and Touchwood didn’t disappoint us on even one occasion. Their problem-solving and ability to find immediate solutions is their asset and that’s much needed in weddings, especially with COVID making it worse,” the bride added.
