International Sourcing Exposition for Elevators & Escalators (ISEE) Bombay Exhibition Centre
After consultation with the exhibitors and a section of the visitors, the organisers of International Sourcing Exposition for Elevators & Escalators (ISEE) Expo have announced that the debut edition of the show will happen on ground from December 9-11, 2021 at Hall 1, Bombay Exhibition Centre. It was originally scheduled for May.
The objective of launching the expo was to ensure a show that is an industry event which is by the industry, of the industry and for the industry. The first edition received support from various trade associations such as Council on Tall Buildings & Urban Habitat (CTBUH India), International Association of Elevator Consultants (IAEC), Fire and Safety Association of India (FSAI), Karnataka Elevator Manufacturers Association (KEMA) and Delhi Elevator Association (DEA), etc. The show is also supported by TAK Consulting Pvt Ltd and the Elevator and Escalator Safety Trust.
Suraj Thodimarath, President, Elevator & Escalator Component Manufacturers’ Association of India (EECMAI) said, “The impact of COVID-19 across the world has been terrible. The safety of people and minimising the risk of infection while trying to get business to bounce back has been a tricky balance. The health and safety of our industry colleagues always has to be the most important criterion. In this aspect, we feel that the decision to postpone ISEE to December 2021 by the organizers is the right one. It will give a safer environment to visitors and participants as the intervening period will see rapid immunization. While we were all looking forward to the show in May, the postponement will help make the event safer and better, allowing for more footfalls at ISEE in December.”
“It is absolutely fine to move the event a few months ahead when the overall health situation in the country would be more conducive for physical meetings as against virtual meetings,” V Suresh, Chairman, Forum of Critical Utility Services (FOCUS) added.
“Over the last one year, the pandemic has disrupted commerce and work life all over the world. While there were high hopes of normalcy returning by late 2020, unfortunately the pandemic has not yet been contained. With vaccines now being available, the situation may turn for the better by the second half of 2021. Under the circumstances, it makes sense to postpone the much-awaited ISEE to a later date in 2021,” G. Shanker, President, Madras Consultancy Group stated.
Arun Agarwal, Secretary, Indian Elevator Engineers Association said, “We are happy with the organizers’ decision to postpone ISEE to December, 2021. This will ensure a much larger domestic and international footfall. The safety and wellbeing of the exhibitors, suppliers and visitors, and the industry as a whole, is of paramount importance, hence the organizers decision to postpone ISEE.”
