The Bombay Art Society Hosts its First Exhibition Post Lockdown; Jehangir Art Gallery to Open Today

The Bombay Art Society Kalakaar Foundation Jehangir Art Gallery
Almost eleven months after the lockdown was imposed, the Bombay Art Society (BAS) hosted its first exhibition in the BAS Art Galleries. It was organised by Kalakaar Foundation from February 1 to 7, 2021.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajendra Patil, President, The Bombay Art Society said, “We are delighted to open art galleries at the Bombay Art Society after almost eleven months of lockdown. This is our first exhibition of the art shows. Now, we hope that regular activities in the arts sector will resume. The Jehangir Art gallery is opening from February 16; other art galleries across New Delhi and Bangalore are also opening up. So, we invite all the artists and artisans to come and exhibit with us and we extend our maximum support to exhibition organisers and artists.”
The exhibition was attended by artists and art lovers from across the city. An important art event on the calendar of visual arts happenings, the mega-event for the artists’ community is not only for the western parts of India, as artists from far northern, eastern and southern parts of India also participate every year and BAS receives exhibition entries from as far away as West Bengal, Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Kerala, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Jammu.
Organised by Kalakaar Foundation from February 1 to 7, 2021, the exhibition held at the BAS Art Galleries was attended by artists and art lovers from across the city
