47th Karbi Youth Festival in Assam from Feb 15 to 19 Set to Promote Ethnic Food, Music, Culture

Karbi Youth Festival Taralangso, Diphu Karbi Cultural Society

The Karbi Cultural Society recently announced the 47th Karbi Youth Festival (KYF), an annual festival celebrated in Assam, to be held from February 15 to February 19, 2021 at Taralangso, Diphu.

KYF is the oldest ethnic festival organized in the North-east and it aims to promote and share the culture and heritage of all people of Karbi descent with the global community.

Every year, celebration of KYF changes in accordance with the local people's demands. This year’s festival will have an exhibition of ethnic foods and traditional artefacts, and offer shopping around the marketplace and many cultural activities during the five days.

This youth festival is not only an entertaining event, but an educational experience. From this region and from outside, one can explore the cultural village following a variety of ethnic foods, clothes, musical instruments, etc., as it honours culture, tradition and family.

At Taralangso, the green scenic beauty surrounding the cultural complex has a series of highly raised bamboo and thatched chang-ghars which depict the typical houses of Karbi people. The festival encourages individuals from all ethnic backgrounds to share the beauty and richness of Karbi history, art, tradition and music.

Karbi Youth Festival aims to promote and share the culture and heritage of all people of Karbi descent with the global community.
