Kerala Tourism Utsavam
Kerala Tourism is all set to organise the annual folk arts festival Utsavam, steeped in tradition, myth and ritualistic practice, in February 2021 in all districts across the State.
As part of this, applications have been invited from exponents and troupes of folk, tribal and ritualistic art forms interested in participating in the festival.
Utsavam is an expedition through the intricate maze of Kerala’s rich cultural heritage and features a wide range of tribal and folk arts, to be performed by seasoned artistes in their authentic style. The event is aimed at sustaining and popularising the traditional art forms of the State, some of which are on the verge of decline.
With a State offering such a wide variety of experiences, Kerala’s Tourism industry has evolved to be professional and welcoming. The Tourism sector in Kerala has also pitched the idea for considering its frontline workers for early COVID-19 vaccination after health workers and those in essential services like police, to attract tourists.
To participate in the festival, applications should reach The Deputy Director (Marketing), Kerala Tourism Department, before January 30, 2021.
