The Oberoi Amarvilas property in Agra recently witnessed its first wedding after six years, with the three-day fairy-tale wedding Karan Jain and Sneha Jodhanibeing held in the last week of November, 2020 with the symbol of love - The Taj Mahal - posing as the backdrop to the ceremonies. All the ceremonies were executed and managed by brother-sister duo Jueta and Pratik Hemdev, Director, Yolo Entertainment & Weddings, along with their team, according to the brief shared by the couple and their families, and following all the necessary safety guidelines in view of the pandemic.

Day 1 started with guests being welcomed at the Delhi airport and personalised welcome message recordings that kept the guests entertained during their four-hour drive to Agra in their dedicated cars. Personalised food boxes, safety and sanitisation kits were also placed in the cars for the guests to travel comfortably.

The celebrations kick-started with a sit-down family dinner themed ‘The Vintage Ball’ for 75 close family and friends. The décor was all white, with white florals and linens. A violinist escorted the bride and groom to their seat, which started the soirée, and a live singer took over as the guests enjoyed their elaborate and royal meal with menu thoughtfully curated for the evening.

For the mehndi ceremony, the venue was turned into a Rajasthani royal backdrop, decorated with leheriya fabrics for draping, Rajasthani puppets decorated with floral arrangements as centre-pieces and props around the venue along with decorated swing. Vinita Nautiyal performed at the function along with her troupe of dancers.

Day 2 began with the ‘Mudda Tikka’ ceremony for the groom, followed by the bride’s ‘Godhbharai’ ceremony, leading into their engagement, ring exchange and cake-cutting. The guests then witnessed a glamorous sangeet in the evening with black, mirrors and all things glittery as its theme. The evening culminated with the Akhtar brothers’ soulful singing. DJ Navinlater performed at the sangeet’ at the ITC Mughal lawns.

The Jodha Mahal lawns were beautifully done up in all shades of yellow with organza and marigold for the ‘Haldi’ ceremony.

Later, the ‘Baraat procession’ started with ‘Ghodchadai’, post which the groom entered the venue in Maharaja style in a vintage car, along with his ‘Chattar Man’, Lavazma and band.
