On August 29, 2020, FB Celebrations executed an intimate celebrity engagement ceremony at Juhu, Mumbai with all possible precautions to ensure the maximum safety of guests during the pandemic.
In an exclusive interview with EVENTFAQS Media about the ceremony, Bhavnesh Sawhney, Director and Co-founder, FB Celebrations shares insights about their event planning strategies, unique arrangements, challenges, post-COVID plans and more.
Tell us about the intimate engagement ceremony you planned recently.
We executed the intimate engagement ceremony of film producer Nidhi Dutta, daughter of Bollywood film-maker, JP Dutta and actress Bindiya Dutta, with director Binoy Gandhi. The celebration was held at their residence in Mumbai, adhering to the current government regulations pertaining to the Covid-19 pandemic. We managed the RSVP, guest hospitality and logistics for this ceremony where personal attention and eye to detail were key. We were also in charge of the overall show management, and looked after the entertainment of the high-profile guests as well as smooth conduct of the rituals, among other things.
What were the unique arrangements done for the event?
The unique arrangements involved the safety protocols that were adhered to, during this homely affair. The entertainment, food arrangements and décor, among other aspects, were all designed to be aesthetically pleasing yet exuding a warm feeling.
How challenging was it to execute the event while following Government guidelines to maintain safety?
We have all learnt to adapt in these chaotic times, so keeping aspects such as sanitization and wearing masks has become quite natural. We set up stations to distribute sanitisers and masks to the guests as well. The more challenging aspects were ensuring that every item was sanitised properly before the guests arrived, which proved to be very time-consuming. Further, ensuring that physical distance is maintained but social distance doesn’t get in the way was also challenging.
How difficult was it to manage the team, source supplies and meet client requirements for this ceremony?
The safety of our team is just as important to us. We ensured that the team maintained distance and wore their protective gear at all times. The décor and equipment were disinfected before guests arrived and from time to time during the ceremony. Travelling and sourcing was still a little difficult for the team owing to public transport and accessibility limitations.
How do you plan to execute such events post-Covid and what will be your focus for future initiatives?
Our future initiatives will focus on making such celebrations more personal and luxurious. Even post-Covid, we will now aim at making the virtual aspects and streaming a regular practice for guests who cannot be physically present for various reasons. Also, we will ensure that general sanitization and safety measures are maintained.
