#FoF Spotlight: “With FoF, we are getting exposure all across India” – BMP

Festival of Festivals Event Capital BookMyShow Bollywood Music Project

Event Capital and BookMyShow hosted the inaugural ‘Festival of Festivals’ (FoF), a curated collection of India’s event IPs (intellectual properties) across genres such as music, food, literature, languages, fashion and more, from 14th to 16th August 2020. 

It featured multiple festivals, adding up to over 20 hours of content. The ticketed event donated 10 percent of proceeds to NGO Anahad, to support artistes involved in live entertainment impacted by the pandemic. This was routed through BookMyShow’s charity initiative BookASmile.

Presented by Reliance Digital and co-powered by Hungama, MTV was the Broadcast Partner for FoF. 

EVENTFAQS Media reached out to participating festivals before FoF kicked off, to know what one can expect to see at the inaugural edition and what participants expect from the new property. Here below is an interaction with Deepak Choudhary, Founder and Director, Event Capital and Alaap Gosher, Truly Musical, from Bollywood Music Project.

How does a move from on-ground to virtual format impact an established event IP like yours?

The shift from on-ground to virtual format has opened up avenues for newer opportunities. Although it was a challenging task, the support of the people has been overwhelming and is encouraging for us. We are making sure that the core essence of the IP, artistes and Bollywood is kept.

What is your expectation from being part of the Festival of Festivals?

The virtual event, Festival of Festivals has been conceptualised and curated in a way that it presents a platform to various IPs. We definitely wanted BMP to be a part of this. As an IP, we have only been able to establish a presence in Mumbai and Delhi, however with FoF, we are getting exposure all across India. It also presents us a chance to interact with IPs of different genres which is a big plus.

What is the content module you are coming up with for FoF? How similar or different will this be from your original festival?

We are very much keeping the essence of Bollywood intact and are collaborating with Live and In-Sync this time. This collaboration in itself is a different aspect from the original event. They are masters and trendsetters of contemporary and fusion music, and together we are all set to bring the live event experience to viewers in the comfort of their homes.

One reason for people to watch it, over the plethora of content on the web.

Over the years, BMP as a festival has done various live events. With such diverse artistes and musicians like Mame Khan, Rasika Shekar, Taufiq Qureshi, Purbayan Chatterjee, Darshan Doshi, Mahesh Raghavan and Aditya Srinivasan, we are bringing a whole new experience to our viewers in just two hours. This collaboration is something that has not been seen in the past and makes us stand out when it comes to other content available on the web.
