Delegates From 50 Countries Join IAA Book's Virtual Launch Managed by Hansa Events

Hansa Events International Advertising Association (IAA) Global Advertising Lawyers’ Alliance (GALA)

Over 200 privacy experts, marketing and advertising executives, and legal professionals from over 50 countries joined the virtual launch of a book on global privacy laws and data protection on 8th July 2020. The book was a joint effort by the International Advertising Association (IAA) and Global Advertising Lawyers’ Alliance (GALA), while the event was conceptualized and executed by Hansa Events.

The handbook offers recommendations on how businesses can comply with the legalities of data protection in regards to advertising and marketing in different countries. Titled “Privacy Law: A Global Legal Perspective on Data Protection Relating to Advertising & Marketing,” it covers privacy laws in over 70 countries.
 
The event featured eminent privacy experts and advertisers hosted by an Emcee, live, from the comfort of their homes. 

Nitin Paranjpe, COO, Unilever Plc., was the guest of honor and received the book virtually at the event. He said, “The benefit of this handbook is unimaginable – for brands, for companies, for advertisers – and more so for global companies such as ours, in current times. The book highlights another important aspect that data privacy is a fundamental human right and that is a big thing."

A panel discussion on the subject with industry leaders from multiple countries followed, moderated by Carla Michelotti, IAA Global Vice President-Government Affairs. The panelists from Facebook, Aqilliz, and Frankfurt Kurnit also took a few live questions from the audience.
