Odisha Becomes the 1st State to Resume Sports Event in India Post Lockdown; Hosts T10 League!

Odisha T10 Premiere League Capital Sports Club, Bhubaneswar

Due to COVID19 sports and sports-related activities had come to a halt throughout India since March 2020. Recently, Capital Sports Club at Bhubaneswar announced to organize the Odisha T10 Premiere League - a state-level cricket league to resume sports activities in India. 

Speaking about this Bishnu Satpathy, Chief Organizer, Odisha T10 Premiere League said, “Corona Pandemic is such that we have to learn to live with it as well as move ahead with strong determination. This league will be organized strictly adhering to the Govt. guidelines as only players and officials will be allowed inside the playing area behind closed doors and no spectators involved. Also, a matter of fact is that almost 95% +ve cases in Odisha have come out of quarantine centers so it adds great confidence to the outer-world to resume usual activities. No Spectators in the stands / Masks for players and Officials / Hand Washing- Sanitizer stations on and off the field   /  Physical Distancing / Regular Temperature Checks. Conduct of COVID test will be compulsory for everyone who will take part in the competition and only be allowed after they test negative.

At present, as per the current directives from Govt, now only Online registrations will be accepted and a further selection will also be done following strict guidelines as per Govt. SOPs. When the situation will be favorable and after getting a clear Govt. approval/directive only the Tournament matches will go ahead. There will be six teams namely Odisha-North, Odisha-South, Odisha-Central, Capital-Odisha, West-Odisha, East-Odisha, and players can opt for the team they want to play for in the registration form. All the matches will be played in and around Bhubaneswar.

This will be a great opportunity for the players in Odisha to showcase their talent in a major stage as the club is going to share the video footage of best performances to Odisha state cricket association as well as planning is going on to stream the matches live in OTT platforms / Sports App like Fan code, SportsTiger said, Bishnu Satpathy. Members of the media have been requested to extensively promote this event so that players from all over Odisha get the chance to showcase their talent and remain the historic part of Odisha being the 1st state to resume sports activities in India after Lockdown gets over.
