Several speakers also spoke about careers in the fields of digital marketing, artist management, and advertising. Careers in creative industries like photography, dance, and filmmaking were also spoken about.
Talking about content creation during one of the sessions, Prajakta Kohli, Influencer, said, “As creators, we are constantly thinking of ideas and I personally am in the habit of making quick voice notes or jotting down ideas whenever they come to me. In the content space, we have to consistently churn out good quality content. To all the aspiring content creators out there, I would suggest that you believe in your content since the content is the king. Also, don't get comfortable if you have reached the top. Keep going, always!”
During another panel program, Vivek Bhargava, CEO Dan Performance Group, Dentsu Aegis Network, shed light on the digital marketing industry which is growing rapidly. He said, “When digital marketing started, obviously it was a new entrant, and we had to name it so we named it digital marketing. But now if you look at the industry today, I would say that the time has come to drop the word ‘digital’. All marketing is essentially digital because it is the new normal in our times. Conventional media isn’t just that dominant anymore.”
Adding to this, Deepak Choudhary, Founder & Director, Event Capital said “We are grateful to the speakers who agreed to be a part of this Edutainment show. The response received from the participants and viewers has been overwhelming, and that's what keeps us going.”
Speaking about blogging and its meteoric rise in the digital space, Malini Agarwal, Founder & Creative Director, Miss Malini said, “Imitation is the best form of flattery as they always say, so even if someone does that, the key is to get ahead in the game. There were a lot of sites that popped up after ours that replicated our work because lots of people liked what Miss Malini did. So, we're always on a mission to keep being innovative and being new. We've created The Girl Tribe, which is a web series talk show and now we're going to be launching an app for it too. So, it is really important that you stay ahead of the curve and remember that the world is a large place and that there's room for everybody. You have to find your niche and nobody can really say things quite the way you can.”
Acclaimed Filmmaker, Imitiaz Ali, was also present as a speaker for one of the programs and he spoke about filmmaking as a career and his journey in films so far. He said “Cinema is the most fascinating thing in life and filmmaking schools are encouraging places full of opportunities now. In India, directors are responsible for getting back the investor’s money. Filmmaking is a unique business and it is a craft that is honed by time, experience, and vision.”
Every year, The Edutainment Show brings together young students and eminent personalities from various fields to share their experiences and provide exposure to opportunities in the job market, and this year was no different. The show went on even though a global pandemic is pressing upon us.
