Umaid Bhavan Palace, Rajasthan Team Baraati Inc
Team Baraati Inc. planned and executed a beautiful wedding for Yosephine and Rohan at Taj Umaid Bhavan Palace, Jodhpur, India from February 14th to 17th 2020. The groom Rohan was Indian & the bride Yosephine was Indonesian, the power couple had a very busy work schedule and thus Team Baraati were scouting a team to completely rely on right from concept to execution. Right from conceptualization to complete delivery of events to logistics and hospitality, all was managed by them.

The Baraati Airport concierge welcomed the guests on their arrival, and checked them in then and there, to avoid any waiting period at the Palace. On their way to the hotel, a pre-recorded radio show played welcoming the guests to #Rosephine2020 and played a string of high energy wedding songs that the couple loved. At the Palace the guests were welcomed in the quintessential Umaid Bhavan style with royal trumpets, aarti, tikka, and garlanding followed by delicious welcome drinks, champagne and a live folk performance in the grand lobby. The guests were welcomed to their rooms with a wedding guide to take them through each day of this grand multicultural wedding and to inform them of the various provisions made for them by the couple.

The 1st event curated for them was a Sufi night with Nizami Bandhus, conceptualized by Baraati Inc, to set the tone of love for the weekend. The famous Bollywood Sufi band sang qawwalis and Bollywood tracks from across the eras, curated for the audience by team B.Inc & the groom's father. The couple made their first entry at the Palace Gates with a follow spot into the venue. The venue sparkled with stunning fairy light canopies, shimmery ink blue and rose gold color palette, lots of White & red flowers ranging from roses to orchids, a 'Love installation', as it was valentines day, where guests could sign candles and leave a warm wish for the couple. The specially curated menu ensured the guests had a delectable meal from across cuisines - Rajasthani & Global- to ease into the lavish menus that were being prepared for the coming days! The bartending by Elixir Coterie ensured each cocktail was lip-smacking and all straight drinks were served in style.

Day 2 morning was about the colors and fun of a Rajasthani Mehendi but facelifted to an Urban chic vibe by the very talented Mumbai based decor house, DreamzKraft. With a bold color palette of mustard yellow, Jodhpuri Blue and multi-color floral, the guests walked into a gorgeous poolside Mehendi event setup. To make the event engaging for a global audience many activities were planned. Team Baraati had a live cricket match between Rohan's royal's and Yosephine's Queens, followed by Beer Pong quick games. There was live bangle making alongside the choodi bazaar set up, for the ladies to indulge. The event favor was a beautifully handcrafted potli, in the color palette of the décor, with golden jhallar tassles by Rani Pink Gifts.

A Banta bar was set up to spread the real Indian flavors and the food menu was designed to give a taste of all Rajasthani street food, Grecian Gyros and many other dishes followed by the main course. The wedding party then indulged in Dhols and fun boliyaan session with party starter emcee- emcee sid, followed by a sundowner party with Dj Kumarswamy. The royal spa set up for refreshing foot and head massages to get everyone geared & going for the mega dance night which was to follow!

After a fun-filled morning, it was time for a mega sangeet at the royal banquets. The décor pallete of marsala red, gold, and blush pink added a regal aura to the venue. The LED performance stage design set the tone of how the night was going to be and the performances by friends and family from across the globe made hearts swell with love.

The entertainment line up was intense with the wedding wrapper and emcee - emcee sid- kickstarting the evening. This was followed with power-packed performances by Indians, Indonesian, American, Japanese and German guests dancing to the tunes of Bollywood beats, followed by a live singing performance by the bride's cousins. The DJ line up with Indonesian hip-hop sensation DJ goodgrip spinning hip-hop and RnB followed by Mumbai city party spinner Dj Kumarswamy dropping the Bollywood beats!

Day 3 morning began with beautiful jute, white and yellow set up in the courtyard at the palace. Rohan entered his Haldi on Dhols with his parents and sister. The courtyard was embellished with yellow and orange marigold flowers and jute treated props. The postcard moments were perfectly captured by Karan Sidhu photography, which captured the surprise of the flower shower on the couple!

The majestic tents were set on the palace grounds for the sehra bandi & the baraat with a dj truck awaiting the groom and the wedding party at sundown. The baraat was made of a royal elephant dressed in banarsi covering, mashal holders, royal lights and the wedding monogram bearers. To kick off the baraat 11 dholwalas began the drumming in traditional format which was then converted into a party on wheels with percussionist Hiten Panwar performing on a DJ truck, making the wedding party celebrate the wedding procession and the groom while indulging in live cocktails and mini bites serviced by royal butlers. This followed the Jaimala at the Grand Lobby where the bride entered the venue with her brothers carrying the 'Phoolon ki chaddar' with her bridal bouquet walking down the aisle.

The mandap and the lawn was beautifully decorated in a quintessential royal palette of ivory, gold, and red. The mandap was afresh with heavy ceiling installation of mogras and rajnigandhas and handcrafted ghunghroo props. The tablescapes, props and installations across the venue were perfect photo-ops which the guests loved! Post the ceremony, the happy couple and their friends indulged in a rocking monochrome after-party at the royal banquets till the wee hours of the morning.

Baraati Designs in collaboration with illustration Srishti Roy made the couple a personal wedding website to keep everyone aligned globally, with all necessary wedding communications and preps and sent out custom animated evites. Complete logistics management of 200 guests on charter flights was managed by Team Baraati Inc.
