Think Events Implements First Edition of Social Innovation Summit

Think Events Hyatt Regency, Mumbai Social Innovation Summit
Think Events facilitated the Centre for Social Impact and Philanthropy (CSIP) to produce its pilot event - Social Innovation Summit. CSIP is India’s first academic center focused on enabling strategic and robust philanthropy for social impact. The Social Innovation summit promotes the adoption of innovations within the sector, with the larger aim to help improve the impact of the social sector. The Social Innovation Summit is conceptualized as an annual event to galvanize innovation in philanthropy and social change.
The Summit was presented as a two-day event: Day 1 - Participation by invitation only, and focus on knowledge sharing between innovators and philanthropists, philanthropic foundation staff and CSR specialists. Day 2 - Open participation for all: Including non-profits, social enterprises, CSR specialists. Added components include an exhibition by organizations and value chain focused Break Out Rooms to ease networking.
The highlight on both the days was the keynote session by Asha Curran, CEO, Giving Tuesday on day 1 and Osama Manzar, Digital Empowerment Foundation on day 2. Besides expert presentations and case studies, the event interspersed TED-style talks featuring insights, successes, and failures from thought leaders in the sector.
Think Events received the mandate to manage on-ground execution including hospitality & venue management. The summit was held at the Hotel Hyatt Regency, Mumbai during the Daan Utsav week, on October 4th & 5th 2019. The event included registrations, panel discussions, breakout sessions, workshops, and an exhibition. As the essence of the event was to drive positive social impact, the event adopted zero use of single-use plastic throughout the event.
