4th Edition of Bollywood Music Project Redefines The Quintessential Music Festival

The 4th edition of Škoda Auto presents Hungama Bollywood Music Project, Asia’s largest Bollywood music festival came to a fitting end with performances by over 60+ artists across 2 days. Beating the Mumbai heat people turned up in big numbers to watch their favorite artists perform and the festival was nothing short of pure, unadulterated extravagance, packed with many surprises and a perfectly curated programme set up. Situated in the heart of Mumbai, Jio Garden played the perfect host to the 4th edition of the festival.

Day 1 of the festival began with a delightful performance by singer and YouTube sensation Anirudh Bhola who started the music festival with a string of soulful melodies. Next on the lineup was Punjab di kudi, Singer Akanksha Bhandari, The Yellow Diary band, Ashish Chhabra, Rimi Nique, Mansheel Gujral, Sharvi Yadav, Siddhant Sharma & Thomson Andrews took the audience to a nostalgic trip down the memory lane.

Taking back to memory lane, Zubeen Garg who paid tribute to legendary playback singer- Kishore Kumar regaled the audience with songs like Chingari Koi Bhadke from Amar Prem, Rim Jhim Gire Sawaan from Manzil.

Music lovers gathered in large numbers as singer Javed Ali whose name the crowd chanted loudly sang some of his popular songs like Jash-E-Bahaaraa from Jodha Akbar, Guzarish from Ghajini, Tu Jo Mila from Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Dil Ibadat from Tum Mile. Benny Dayal, Shefali Alvares FT. Funktuation & The Horn Flakes started off with a peppy number Daaru Desi from the movie Cocktail followed by Ek Main aur Ekk Tu, Badtameez Dil from Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Nacho Saare Ji Phaadke from Happy Ending and Oh Gujariya from Queen Movie. Singer Vishal Dadlani gave a pleasant surprise to audience as he joined Benny and together they grooved the audience with Disco Deewane from SOTY.

Sukhwinder Singh, inarguably one of the most energetic and accomplished artists in Bollywood, gave a power packed performance making everyone nostalgic. However, the biggest highlight of the Day 1 evening was the performance by Maharashtra’s sensation Ajay Atul. In their trademark style, duo Ajay- Atul started off their performance with an ode to Lord Ganpati and a Marathi “Gondhal”. The duo was joined by playback singer Mohammad Irfan who mesmerized the audience with a touching song Abhi Mujh Mein Kahin from the movie Agneepath. The audience was visibly excited and charged up, jumping up when Ajay Atul concluded their act with Zingaat and Deva Shree Ganesha from the movie Agneepath.

Day 2 kicked off with an electrifying performance by Harish  Moyal, Humsufi band, Apoorv, Jyotica, Zublee Baruah, Pawni Pandey, Akasa. Singer Divya Kumar, Mithoon, Sonu Kakkar, Tinu Kakkar and Shilpa Rao, Ranjit Barot & Musafit FT., Jonita Gandhi & Digvijay Singh rocked on the stage next. 

Next on the lineup was Singer Papon who enthralled the audience with his soul stirring numbers like “Moh Moh Ke Dhaage from Dum Laga Ke Haisha”. Later Ronkini Gupta joined him. Together they thrilled the audience with “Chaav Laga” and made it truly a pleasant Sunday evening.Taking the audience on a musical roller coaster was Raftaar with his foot tapping rap.

 

The last performance of the evening and the Bollywood music festival was the most special. Amit Trivedi started with his solo performance as he sung numbers like “Pushmina Dhaago ke Sang”, “Manja – Kai Po Che”, “Muze Chod Do Mere Haal Pe”, “Nayan Tarse – Dev D”, “Sawaar Loon”, “IK Kudi” amongst others. Later he was joined by a group of four artists including Zublee Baruah, Singer Divya Kumar, Jonita Gandhi and others. The audience’s reaction to each and every slot was a validation enough of the sheer love and success of the show and Bollywood Music. Nothing less than a fete, Jio gardens was vibrant with food, shopping stalls and absolute repertoire of music played. Another massive takeaway from the Bollywood Music Project this year was the clever integration of partner brands in the show. Clearly, this edition of the festival should also serve as case study for IP custodians who are looking to ride on the brand sponsorship wave.

Clearly, Bollywood Music Fans have a destination – Bollywood music project, which they can call their own now. The very exciting and successful fourth edition, has left the Bollywood music lovers already awaiting the next season and wanting for more!
