16th Edition of Tata Mumbai Marathon Announced By Procam International

Procam International, pioneers of distance running events in India, announced the opening of registrations for the Tata Mumbai Marathon 2019 which started from July 29, 2018. The Tata Mumbai Marathon jointly sponsored by the Tata Sons and Tata Consultancy Services. The USD 405,000 IAAF Silver Label event will be celebrating its 16th edition in keeping its date with runners in the Maximum City on Sunday, January 20, 2019. Given the euphoric rise in the running community in the country, for the 2019 edition, a total of 46,000 running places will be up for grabs across six different categories.
As a forerunner to Asia’s most prestigious marathon, the first citizen of the state, His Excellency, the Governor of Maharashtra Shri. CH. Vidyasagar Rao welcomed Tata Sons, Tata Consultancy Services, event partners, and stakeholders, to the majestic environs of the Raj Bhavan launched the registrations for the Full Marathon category of the Tata Mumbai Marathon 2019.

Hon’ble Governor of Maharashtra, Shri Ch. Vidyasagar Rao officially launched the registrations for the 2019 edition, addressing the audience, he said, “The TATA Mumbai Marathon is an affirmative step towards achieving the goal of Swasth Bharat. One of the most democratic and sacred events of the country, it transforms the lives of the people directly and indirectly. There is no distinction of race, caste, sex, and nationality. It has created health and fitness consciousness among people. The TATA Mumbai Marathon is the single largest fundraising platform which is benefiting several NGOs of the country. India can be a great nation if each one of us decides to be better,”.
Pradipta Bagchi, Group Chief Communications Officer, Tata Sons said, “We saw a phenomenal success in the first edition of Tata Mumbai Marathon 2018 and are confident that this year too people will come together in large numbers for the biggest sporting race in India. Marathons are the epitome of participative sports and stand as a true test of human spirit, physical prowess, tenacity, and perseverance much like the Tata group’s journey over the last 150 years.
He added, “This association reflects Tata group’s commitment to help society display the right mix of healthy mind and body and bring about positive change for the larger good.”
