This World Environment Day, Magic Bus India Foundation organised a three-day Plogging Party to clean up parts of Delhi and to instil in children a sense of responsibility towards the environment. Led by Jacob Cherian, a renowned plogger from Bangalore, the activity involved clearing litter in an organised and hygienic manner while running and bagging the litter in biodegradable garbage bags.  The event began on June 5th, World Environment Day and concluded on June 7th and was supported by Hero MotoCorp.

The plogging party received participation from over 950 children and visited several locations in South, East and North Delhi like Bilaspur, Harinagar, Shashi Garden, HolambiKolan, Suraj Park among others.

Jyoti Sharma, Regional Director-North, Magic Bus, said, “A Plogging Party is a fun and active way of involving children in taking care of their environment. We are grateful to HERO for supporting the cause and also to Jacob Cherian for leading the way with this initiative.”

Jacob Cherian says, “The first Delhi Plogging Party is the largest we have ever hosted, and we hope the children take the message of the fight against plastic into their homes and schools. If each child influences even 10 people, that is 10,000 people that this event has changed”.

Jacob Cherian, a renowned plogger, led a group of over 950 Magic Bus children to clean up several neighbourhoods in Delhi between June 5 and 7. The event was supported by Hero MotoCorp Ltd.
