Celebrations GMR Grounds Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla

While the lavish wedding was designed by Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla, the wedding production was taken care of by Celebrations’ Mushtaq Ali and Ipsita Biswas.

The holy ambience of Vrindavan was brought alive at the beautiful wedding which was hosted at the magnificent GMR grounds spread over 1,50,000 Sqft in Hyderabad. The unique concept which was designed by the fashionable duo - Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla, beautifully celebrated the traditions and fervour of the wedding. From colour-coordinated baraat celebrations to an illuminated temple surrounding, floral embellishment, mirror finish floor to hand painted on the ceiling to pichwai as the main stage backdrop, the wedding was an ode to the festive spirit and culture of our country.

Since this was touted to be a wedding of a lifetime, it reflected the highest form of beauty, luxury and design. The client was clear; he wanted to amalgamate modernity and traditional elements through design and colour. Thus came alive the concept of ‘Vrindavan’ that fused beautifully with the overall idea of the wedding décor. It celebrated the colours of India in the truest sense.

The concept and idea was the brainchild of Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla, who beautifully depicted the holy surroundings of Vrindavan at the GMR grounds in Hyderabad. Everything from the baraat processions, the open-air seating arrangement to the sparkly golden lights, the lotus ceiling chandeliers, hand painted walkway ceiling to mirror mosaic elephants, trees to give a look of the theme forest of Vrindavan reflecting the joy and celebration of the modern-day Vrindavan.

GMR Grounds is an open venue thus it comes with its own challenges. An AC hanger of 1, 50,000sqft had to be designed and decorated to enjoy the Vrindavan themed wedding. There was a life-size entrance door created with trees where each stem was hand planted, the walkway ceiling was hand painted by artists from Jaipur, the floor of the passage had a mirror finish, a larger than life handmade pichwai was designed to create a photo op corner for the guests. Mirror mosaic elephants along with other procession welcomed people to Vrindavan.

“The execution challenge is not hard when you have the best team to work on such larger than life projects. The only challenge was the time span to create the dream wedding for our dear guest and his doting daughter. The dream wedding of Chandani and Vedhath came true. Guests were gaga about the concept of Vrindavan being brought to life in such an amazing manner”, said Mushtaq Ali, Founder, Celebrations.

The wedding of Chandani, daughter of Rajya Sabha member from the Telugu Desam Party to Vedhath, was hosted from February 28 to March 1st, 2018.
