Regal Weddings Hotel Taj Rambagh Palace
Dinesh and Nancy's wedding at Hotel Taj Rambagh Palace in Jaipur is a true example of majesty, elegance and fun-filled destination wedding. The wedding celebrations continued November 30, 2017 to December 2, 2017. Both Nancy and Dinesh joined in the planning process in high spirits and they were meticulous in the selection of every item for the wedding. Starting from the wedding invitation cards to the detailing at the events, everything had a similar design to continue the theme.
The three-day wedding affair started off with a fun activity of kite flying for the guests. After this, there was an elegant Welcome Dinner at Suvarna Mahal – the palace of gold. The next morning started with a Yoga session held for the guests followed by Mehendi.
The Mehendi, held at Panghat Lawns, had a hunting theme along with a few traditional Rajasthani folk dance performances and music. The couple entered with folk dancers and men playing dhol. The hunting atmosphere was created by having activities like archery and balloon shooting. The experience was enhanced by the peacocks around the venue and the greenery as far as anyone could see. Other than this there were also henna artists, palm readers and bangle makers.
The fun was later continued during the Sangeet which was hosted in the Oriental Lawns. The entertainment for the night continued with a live Sufi band and the bridesmaids giving a tough competition to the groomsmen when it came to dancing.
The morning of the wedding started with a cooking lesson for everyone followed by a small Vidhi pooja for Dinesh. After that, there was the safa tying and baraat procession. It was truly a Royal procession with elephants, horses, camels, dhol players and mashal men. Dinesh looked no less than a king sitting on the elephant coming to get his queen Nancy.
The wedding mandap was set up in the middle of the Tansen Deck giving it an elegant backdrop of the palace. The shades of pink that were used in the setup truly set a beautiful atmosphere. Traditionally following the customs, the couple tied the knot. The ceremony was followed by a reception dinner where the fireworks started on cue just as Dinesh and Nancy walked in. After the guests were seated, there were speeches by the family followed by an afterparty where a feeling of Halo Club in Hong Kong was replicated to bring up the nostalgia. It was truly a wedding to remember.
Talking about the wedding, Gauri from Regal Weddings said, "It was a multi-cultural wedding with the right balance of grandeur and personalisation. I loved to work on this spectacular story for a lifetime!”
