After a fun-filled Sunday, sailing in the sea, the winners of the Millionaire Asia India Regatta 2018 were felicitated at the Millionaire Asia India Gala Dinner at ITC Grand Central in Mumbai, with the charity partner Festival of Hope presenting a special line-up by the renowned fashion designer – Pallavi Jaikishan.
The partners for The Millionaire Asia India Regatta - Swiss International Airlines, Associate Sponsor and the Powered By Partners - Visit Monaco and Visit California, were too present at the event, in full force. On the first day, there were sixteen boats which participated in the Regatta which almost took three hours to complete.
Parineeta Sethi, Chief Editor & Publisher Millionaire Asia India welcomed the audience which featured an eccelectic mix of many a known face from the world of politics, administration, cinema, fashion, and media. Wolfgang Will, Director - South Asia at Lufthansa German Airlines presented the keynote address of the evening. Sheema Vohra, Founder and Managing Director of Sartha Global, the marketing group which manages Visit California and Rajiv Nangia, India Director, Monaco Government Tourist Bureau presented the other keynote speeches of the evening.
Dr. Amit Bhasin, Founder and Managing Director of PRIVE, Skin and Wellness Clinic, Kailash and Arti Surendranath, Parineeta Sethi and Bjorn Rettig, CEO Burda India - felicitated the winners of the Regatta. And then, it was time to roll out the designer showcase as Pallavi Jaikishan’s latest work adorned the ramp.
With a career that spans nearly three decades, Pallavi has established herself as a respected name in the fashion industry of India. The showcase was presented by the Charity Partner, Festival of Hope, a non-government organization which promotes cancer awareness and works to organize financial aid for afflicted patients. The organization was named as one of the ‘50 Most Innovative Social Initiatives Globally’ by the World CSR Congress on the World CSR Day. The Founder of the Festival of Hope Foundation, Shalini Vig Wadhwa was present on the occasion. The event was managed by Brains on Brands.
I was roped in to host the evening. I wish the Festival of Hope Foundation could have been aided to organize for some of the patients to see the show, but probably due to logistical or monetary reasons, it was not possible. Such events remind one of the utmost importance of charity. I read somewhere that the Skanda Puran advises that one should donate 10% of one's justly earned income on good deeds or works of public benefit. In a world besieged with inequality, the charity will go a long way in making the world a better place for all of us to live in. If you have not made a start, think about it. It is an event you should not miss orchestrating!
