The Seaside Startup Summit, after hosting successful summits at Lake Sevan in Armenia and the UAE, chose India as the next destination. What better destination for a seaside summit in India than the beach capital of the country - Goa! Sunset Getaways was given the responsibility of executing the event on Goan shores. The event was held between March 6 and 11, 2018 at CaboDeRama, Goa.

The venue chosen was a deserted pristine beach on the southern tip of Goa, accessible only by water. The entire setup for the fest was completed within a span of just 5 days. The set-up required Wi-Fi, power supply, a floating jetty, mobile kitchens, toilets for over 300 guests using water from the river that flowed through the venue, three ac auditoriums, technicals which included sound/lights/ LED screens and the entire gamut that goes with an international event. All this on a crystal water beach, never before used by mankind!

The event, supported by the IT Ministry, saw over 300 attendees, consisting of entrepreneurs and investors from India, Europe, Armenia, Russia, and the Middle East coming together for five nights on a beach to share thoughts and ideas on the startup ecosystem worldwide. Some of the guests included Mr. Ameya Abhyankar (IAS) Secretary Information Technology, Mr. Armen Matirosyan (Armenian Ambassador to India), Mr. Karen Gevorgyan (Ministry of Economic development, Armenia), besides several others. 

This first of its kind event setup, set a benchmark for events in Goa, planned at new and offbeat venues, utilising the charm of Goas natural beaches to the hilt. Goa is now a part of the Seaside Startup Summit international portfolio annually and hopes to bring in more numbers next year.

Talking about the challenge of the execution, Lyndon Alves, Sunset Getaways says, "The reason why this event was outstanding is we had to arrange everything from: local licences, WiFi on site, water treatment plants to use water from the river on site, toilets/showers/kitchens, 300 tents for stayovers, and but naturally, the complete event paraphernalia for an event of international standards. All this was done at a venue that’s never before been used by anyone for anything!  Seaside startup CEO has now confirmed that this event is on their annual list of startup summits internationally, bringing Goa on the global startup map. That is the biggest success for us."
