Sandoz A for Pineapple

Sandoz, A Novartis Division wanted to organise its Annual Family Day and like all sequels they expected this one to have grander entertainment, with much larger set-up whilst also retaining an emotional connect. The larger idea behind the event was to bring families closer. Roped in to execute the event, A For Pineapple put on their creative hats and came up with a unique theme suited perfectly to client needs. The family day was celebrated at the Sandoz plant in Turbhe, Navi Mumbai on January 20, 2018.

AFP christened the event theme - ‘Manoranjan – Dilon ka Utsav’.  Annu Anand, MD & Chief Catalyst, AFP said, “This year’s challenge was – Expectations and crowd management. Last year’s success doubled the expectations from the client. This year over 2,000 adults and over 400 kids were going to attend the festivities. Activities, games, food stalls, the main arena had to be planned in such a way that it could take that much crowd and not look crowded at any given point of time. Safety and security of families had to be ensured since the event was held in a factory environment.”

It was raining entertainment right from the word ‘go’. Ceremonial dhol and bhangra greeted the guests at the entrance. The evening was kick-started with an auspicious lamp lighting, which was supported by internal stall on voice and instruments.

The emcee for the event, Dilruba Pandey, opened the evening with a delightful song and doubled as the songstress and invited the audience to sing with her between sessions. This was followed by mega entertainment act performed by the African Acrobats. Akshat Singh (IGT Fame) was an instant hit with the families, especially with kids. The bubbly performer along with his rib-tickling act also delivered an important message for the kids – to study but also play and enjoy life. The aerial act had the audience at the edge of their seat with his beautifully performance and synchronisation. The evening regaled with laughter as Rafique Shaikh enacted his famous ‘Guthi’ act. This year we took the level of internal performances to next level, wherein professional judges were roped in to shortlist 11 types of internal talent contests.   

While the adult audience enthralled on high-octane entertainment, new activities and games were organised for kid’s amusement in the ‘Kids Zone’. There were many other fun-filled activities for all age groups. This year saw a lot of innovations wherein Selfie professionals were roped in to take each family’s selfie using their mobiles so that it stayed with them forever and were later uploaded to social media sites.

Safety was paramount, and hence a larger team of G4S security was deployed to man the event since the location was the factory premises. Kids were given Tyvac bands with parent’s mobile numbers, in case they got lost. Also, an ambulance and fire engine was on standby throughout the event.  All in all, it was an Utsav of fun and family bonding with dollops of 'Manoranjan', orchestrated by A For Pineapple for Sandoz.
