DDB MudraMax Engages Over 10K at Saksham Cyclothon Initiative for PCRA

Over 10,000 people from all walks of life came together to support the Saksham Cyclothon Initiative with their bicycles in Bhubaneswar on February 4, 2018.
The Cyclothon was managed on-ground by the DDB Mudra Group for the Petroleum Conservation and Research Association (PCRA), a society under the Union ministry of petroleum and natural gas. Union Petroleum Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan flagged off the cyclothon from Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneshwar.
The objective of the cycling event was to propagate socio-environmental consciousness among citizens towards the larger aim of conserving fuel. The event had two categories - Saksham Elite Race (for men - 33 km and women - 22 km) and Saksham Green Ride (11 km) from Kalinga Stadium to Khandagiri via Jaydev Vihar Chhak and back to Kalinga Stadium in the same route.
While the Elite categories had serious cyclists, the 11 km category allowed participants to experience the joy of cycling and spread the message the message reducing excessive dependency on oil.
A total of INR 6 lakh was awarded to the cyclists in form of cash prizes. Additionally, 50 cycles were distributed to participants through a lucky draw.
Noted personalities include cyclist Minati Mohapatra, hockey player VR Raghunath, sprinter Amiya Kumar Mallik, Cricketer Munaf Patel, Odia cine stars like Mihir Das, Anu Choudhury, Sabyasachi Mishra and Archita Sahu cheered up the participants through their presence at the event, making the initiative a grand success.
Elaborating on the event execution, Sanjay Shukla, President, OOH & Experiential, DDB MudraMax remarked, “It has been a great opportunity for our team at DDB MudraMax to support PCRA's Go Green initiative. Handling over 10k participants for their Cyclothon event was a massive challenge but due to seamless management and dedication, our team managed to easily pull it off. The success of the event has brought in incredible laurels for the team and we look forward to more of such opportunities in the future.”
