This January the Wedding Umbrella team had an enormous responsibility to design and manage a wedding for one of the leading real-estate tycoons in an unusual venue - BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir at Sarangpur. Not just for the number of restrictions to be taken care of but also because of the sheer aura and sanctity of the venue - managing a wedding at the iconic temple was a challenge worth undertaking. And among some of the most breathtaking moments; one was a spectacular use and display of 3D projections. The Wedding Umbrella team had floated this idea to the client in early August who readily agreed for the same and that is precisely when the journey of unfurling the magic began. Extensive inputs from the Saints of Swaminarayan sect were taken in order to replicate content that depicted the religious ethos.
The massive 3D projections at the Sarangpur Temple were setup twice – one to be used as the backdrop of Bhajan - Kirtan and the other time on the temple facade for it to reflect on the Wedding Chori (Mandap) - specially erected out of wire mesh for it to maintain its transparency. What made this entire experiment unique was the fact that it was for the very first time that the 3D mapping technology was used in a Bhajan - Kirtan which also had the presence of revered saints. Moreover, both the 3D projections were being executed under 24 hours at exactly the same venue but in two diagonally different directions (North & South) creating an awe-inspiring moment for the guests! To have marveled guests and saints of a sect known for having executed event globally was indeed an effort worth applauding by team Wedding Umbrella.
