The WOW Awards Asia 2018 is now open for entries in 100 categories across 5 groups. The five groups of categories are Experiential Marketing, Experiential Celebrations, Event Show Asia, Experiential Venues Awards and LIVE Quotient Awards.
The WOW Awards and Convention Asia 2018 is set to take place from June 28-30, 2018 at New Delhi Aerocity and is Asia's largest recognition for excellence in the experiential industry. While you enter your best work in the event & experiential domain with the intent to take the coveted metal home, it’s time you meet the first 10 jury members of the WOW Awards Asia 2018.
1. Anshuman Chakravarty
Head Branding & Corporate Communication- Orient Electric Limited
Anshuman Chakravarty (Head Brand & Corporate Communication, Orient Electric) is a Brand Management and Marketing Communications practitioner with 20 years’ experience. Anshuman has been instrumental in re-launching the brand “Orient Electric” with its new identity and positioning, thus unifying the business under one brand identity and improving its connect with new age evolved TG. He has also lead Orient’s recent 2017 campaign of LED battens and ensured the brand gets up to 3rd rank in market share from the 12th position within a period of 12 months. Post-campaign sales for battens have increased by 100% within 60-days period.
2. Ashish Rai
General Manager & Head – National Brand Properties, OOH Media & Activations- Idea Cellular
A Brand strategist with over 2 decades of progressive leadership experience in Telecom, FMCG & Alco-beverages, Aashish has played a key role in building & repositioning of big-ticket brands. In his current role at Idea Cellular, he is responsible for building National brand properties & Strategic Associations and driving the Integrated Marketing Communication for the same. At Idea, Aashish has been credited with conceptualizing one of India’s largest on ground Live Music properties to create buzz for the brand.
3. Avinash Oza
Head - Rural Activation, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd’s, Farm Division – Mahindra Tractors
Avinash Oza heads Rural Activation for Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd’s, Farm Division – Mahindra Tractors. In 2016, he was conferred with “Best Marketing Support” award in Mahindra Tractors Annual Sales & Marketing conference and a President’s Excellerator Award for the launch of “Mahindra Yuvo” tractors Prior to M&M, he had successful stints with BTL agency, Ogilvy Action & DDB Mudra as planning head for their rural wing At Ogilvy, he bagged coveted title of “Young Tiger” in 2006 and in DDB MudraMax his campaign “Birla SunLife - Agent on Track” was shortlisted for Cannes lions 2015.
4. Abhinav Sharma
adidas Running & Training India – Brand Activation
Abhinav Sharma has worked across various consumer brands such as – Titan Eye+ ,TAGHeuer & adidas. He specialises in building communities & cutting through clutter in influencer marketing. Abhinav currently handles the Brand Activation for Running & Training verticals within adidas India.
5. Chaitanya Rele
VP – Head of Marketing- Havmor Ice Cream Ltd.
Chaitanya Rele is the VP - Head of Marketing at Havmor Ice Cream Ltd. Before joining Havmor, Chaitanya has worked with Publicis India as a Managing Partner. Over the last 16 years, Chaitanya has worked for clients across the board from telecommunication to FMCG and manufacturing to fashion. In the past, he has worked with Kyoorius, Saffron Brand Consultants, Addikt & Fitch. In his current role at Havmor, Chaitanya plays a key role in developing and strengthening the Havmor as a brand across India. He has experience in branding, content strategy and retail, having worked on a variety of brands across the world.
6. Apurva Chamaria
Vice President and Head of Corporate Marketing - HCL Technologies
Apurva Chamaria is the Vice President and Head of Corporate Marketing for HCL Technologies, a 7 Bn US$ global IT major. Under his leadership, HCL became the fastest growing brand in the Interbrand top Indian brands list for 2 years in a row (No. 17 in 2016) and was ranked at No.378 and valued at 4.4 Bn US$ in the Brand Finance Global 500 2017 league table.
In the last 3 years, the HCL campaigns have won 110 prestigious global and regional marketing awards. In his 11 years at HCL, he’s performed various roles including being CEO’s Vineet Nayar's EA, Sales Director at HCL America driving business development and leading Marketing and Strategy for Enterprise Applications Business.
He has worked in various sales & marketing positions at Ranbaxy Laboratories (now Sun Pharmaceuticals). He’s also been a journalist and a client servicing executive at an advertising agency. In various parts of his career, he’s worked in Asia-Pacific, India, Africa, U.K. and North America.
In 2016, he was awarded the “Marketer of the Year” by World Leadership Forum, “Digital Marketer of the Year” by IAMAI and “B2B Marketer of the Year” by Paul Writer.
7. Simran Kodesia
Communication Head- Airbnb India
Born & raised in New Delhi, Simran realized her love for communication early on. Having graduated from MICA Ahmedabad in Advertising, Marketing, and PR; Simran heads Communication for Airbnb in India and is the regional lead for Airbnb Trips in the APAC region.
From being the youngest Account Director at 25 at Hill & Knowlton Strategies to being the youngest Head of Marketing at The Claridges, New Delhi at 28, her expertise spans various industries. Simran comes with 10 years of experience in Marketing & Communication in the Hospitality, Technology, Media & Entertainment, and Lifestyle sectors.
8. Nanditta S Mahdevia
Manager Marketing- Nykaa
Nanditta S Mahdevia is a 30-year-old Marketing professional from Mumbai. An economics graduate, Nanditta went on to specialize in Marketing and has since been an integral part of growing brands like Sabyasachi, Provogue, Talwalkars and is currently with India's largest online beauty retailer, Nykaa.com.
Nanditta specializes in building brands by employing the right strategy and creating a solid foundation to engage consumers by forming the right connect, and the right marketing mix.
9. Vineet Agrawal
Head of Marketing - Indian Subcontinent and Maldives- Brown-Forman Worldwide
Vineet is a passionate marketing professional, excited by the concept of experiential marketing and powerful storytelling and its potential to build a deep and long-lasting connect between the consumer and the brand. Experienced across managing lifestyle brands, people leadership, managing cross-cultural relationships, marketing and commercial strategy, P&L and project management, Vineet was selected amongst the top 100 most influential marketers in India for 2017 by the World Marketing Congress and CMO Asia. He has also been a finalist at the Economic Times Young Leaders program – 2012.
10. Ahmed Rahimtoola
Head of Marketing - Allied Blenders & Distillers Pvt. Ltd.
With over 20 years of experience in Marketing, Advertising and Business Development and a proven track record in launching/relaunching some of the well-renowned alcohol beverage brands in India, Ahmed Rahimtoola heads the Marketing for Allied Blenders & Distillers Pvt. Ltd.
