Japinder and Harjeet connected with comfort and excitement right from the first time they met. The proposal was a very serene one set at the Bangla Sahib Gurudwara, Delhi, on a chilly winter morning at 3 am.
It took one year for Tarnpreet (bride’s brother) to plan and organize the lavish wedding celebrations. They chose Versace for its sheer elegance and luxury experience which is unmatched anywhere in the world. The 3-day festivities hosted 1000 plus guests at the Palazzo Versace Dubai on a 3 days and nights wedding pack.
The most memorable moment of the wedding was when Tarnpreet was coordinating on the Walkie-talkie with the chopper pilot for the 350 kg rose petal shower. It was a lot of fun and a never ending floral shower.
For the engagement, a 17th century architectural inspired scallop handwork Ballroom gown with a 5-meter trail and conical all around was designed by Dar Sara High Fashion who worked 24/7 around the clock to create this masterpiece in less than a month. The idea was to have the biggest princess moment of Japinder's life. A true Red carpet moment is what the bride wished for.
Mehendi was on a yacht with a sun-kissed theme that surely demanded a yellow and henna coloured look. 3-D peacocks and millions of sequins on the lehenga took Shaveta and Anuj from Dubai about six months to complete, as each thread was hand-woven to complete this traditional yet modern look.
Manish Malhotra sketched a royal vision of Japinder for the baraat. He designed a deep purple sucha (pure) badla work lehenga in contrast with Maroon to match Farah Khan Ali's deep maroon rubies. The lehenga also showed off a handsome trail decked with Swarovski, tassels, and sequins. Japinder completed this look with a real ivory chura and gold kaleere.
Laavan is the real wedlock moment and was very special for Japinder. Being an early morning ritual, Japinder chose coral for her outfit colour and Pakistan's designer icon, Faraz Manan customized this look for her. Going with a more traditional look, Japinder didn't want to wear a lehenga at the Gurudwara and opted for a more classy sharara which was also a fresh breath of air, with long sleeves, and a knee length kurta.
The happening night with 25 litre of champagnes popping all night, aerialist dancers, belly dancers, bhangra troops, glitter portrait painters, 6 feet Versace Cake, 10 carat wedding ring, ice sculptures, candlelit decor, snowfall imitation, performances by Bollywood stars such as Sophie Chowdhary, Meet Broz made this wedding a lush affair!

“Planning the HarJap wedding was such a joy. We met Japinder and her family early on in the wedding planning process and we knew right away that the idea was to create a stunning wedding while maintaining the warmth that is apt during such festive times. As a bride, Japinder knew exactly what she wanted, which was very refreshing for us and her brother Tarnpreet was also quite instrumental throughout and was deeply involved in every aspect of planning which smoothened the entire styling and planning process. The family worked with us to ensure that all the minute details were taken care of and we were meticulous about every single aspect of the process from the food and entertainment to the cars the guests would be driven in. All in all the Baweja family’s vision came to life over the span of the four-day wedding. Magnificent venues, lavish buffets, unusual entertainment, several visual delights in terms of décor and unparalleled hospitality by the hosting families truly made it a wedding to remember”.
Sandra Tikal, General Manager of Pallazo Versace Dubai says:
“We were very excited to host Japinder and Harpreet’s wedding as it was the first large Indian wedding we hosted at Palazzo Versace Dubai since it opened its doors in 2015. The bride, being based in Dubai, knew what Palazzo Versace and our world-class events spaces stood out for. We loved hosting this once-in-a-lifetime experience. The couple is energetic and fun and this inspired us to do everything in our power to make their wedding magical and memorable. For a hotel, there is always a challenge in creating these big events and we are so happy that Palazzo Versace Dubai was the only place that felt right to them.”
The HarJap wedding was synonymous with luxury hosted at the grand Palazzo Versace Dubai.
