The couple first met in London soon after Aashna completed her college and Sheekher was doing an MBA. And as they say, the rest is history.
The couple didn’t have a formal proposal but Sheekher planned a trip to Sri Lanka and popped the question to his lady love while they were snorkeling! Just like a dream!
Aashna planned her own wedding functions in advance since it was a destination wedding. They married at the Park Hyatt, Goa where the wedding festivities began in the company of families and close friends. For Aashna, being a wedding planner was an added advantage as they were aware of all the challenges that would come with the planning part.
“We started planning in March, around six to eight months ahead of the marriage. Coming from the wedding industry itself made me prepared to plan my big day well in advance”, Aashna says.
Whimsical Mehendi

The mehendi function was a small outdoor affair attended by family and friends who arrived in Goa a day prior to the bigger functions. The décor theme was colorful with hanging candles and a quirky mini bar. The venue was decorated with colossal flowers in the shades of pinks and purples.
Quirky Sangeet

Sangeet was a fun-filled and colourful event. The décor had elements like shiny disco balls and sparkly lights. While the dancers entertained the guests, the couple didn’t miss the chance of surprising the party with a beautiful performance. There was a ‘kissing booth’ that added a fun element to the décor while making it a photo booth for everyone to click pictures.
The Haldi

While the ‘haldi’ ceremony traditionally takes place in two separate locations, Aashna and Sheekher set theirs up together.
Saying Vows Under A Rose Decked Mandap

With a mandap made with red roses, the decor for this outdoor ceremony was effortless and minimal. It was modern with a strong touch of personalization. Aashna and Sheekher wanted it to be very personal and curated just for them - right from the colors, to the flowers and the vibe! They wanted a very natural/moody floral arrangement for the ceremony. A few pops of deep colors with greenery and fresh bright tones were the major highlight.
A Classy Reception

The enchanted forest themed décor of the reception radiated grandeur. The décor was entirely red, with floral accents. Guests enjoyed the foot-tapping music and dancing, alongside the delectable food.
Aashna says, “Planning your wedding is a two-way thing. It drives you totally crazy because you’re not planning for somebody else but yourself. Here you’re not only planning the décor and hospitality but you’re planning your look, hair, clothes, and jewellery. You are also planning the gifts etc. Planning your wedding is a very challenging thing. A lot of people asked me if I really want to do this, but I was very sure. Like on the mehendi morning I was at the venue early morning to make sure everything was perfect and the way I wanted it to be. But that’s also because at some level I am a perfectionist. I won’t say that it was an easy task, it was really difficult, I have put in a lot of hard work, blood, tears, and sweat into it. But at the end of the day, it was totally worth it!
