This extravagant Udaipur wedding was held from December 8 to 11, 2017 in different venues, such as Oberoi Udaivilas, Trident, Taj Lake Palace, Fateh Prakash, Shiv Niwas and Leela Palace for the Mayra festival and Welcome Dinner, Mehendi, Sangeet, and Wedding.

 

The wedding celebration started with a small Mayra function and Welcome dinner at the Trident lawns. It looked beautiful with a Sufi theme in white and gold, Mashrabiya walls, drapes, over 500 candles and over 100 life-sized lanterns. The Sufi theme was highlighted with a magnificent performance by Javed Ali accompanied by Dervish dancers.

 

The next morning was a Mehendi Mela brunch at The Leela which had some beautiful décor inspired by the local deity Srinathji along with abundant greenery, florals, pastel greens and pinks, chevron prints and a Bougainville ceiling. Jonita Gandhi performed along with family Sangeet performances. A huge interactive mela was set up with stalls selling jutis, shawls, razais, live lac bangles, fortune tellers and tarot card readers, Naathdwara paintings and more.

 

 

The same night was the Sangeet at the Trident Lawns. The lawns were transformed with rich décor in Royal blue velvets and gold, mirror finished bars, Rajasthani motifs including a 6ft dia 3D sun backdrop for the stage on which Pritam gave an exhilarating performance for 3 hours.

 

 

The next day had a few small poojas at the Leela and the Safabandhi at the Taj Lake Palace. The baraat started from the Udaivilas jetty and went on to the Forecourt area of Udaivilas. The lotus pond was decked with an acrylic sheet where the varmala took place culminating in a stunning firework display.

 

The wedding and dinner then took place at the Udaivilas Front lawns where a beautiful cantilevered mandap of 60ft x 40ft was built on the pond overlooking Lake Pichola. Rajnigandha flower tassels hung in abundance from the trees and mandap giving a striking look.
