Team Gobananas

Team Gobananas planned the wedding of Varun and Priyam, a renowned developer family from Surat in the first week of December. The wedding could be best described as tumultuous and an unfettering experience. It was a three-day event that included the Sangeet, Baraat, and Reception.

An Unconventional Sangeet

The conscious intention behind the concept of The Sangeet as done in a very different tone was to add a touch of “Disc” to the usual sangeet evening. This led us Team Gobananas put up a “Disco Ball” at the venue.
This sangeet had all the reasons to Go Bananas! The performances were infused by the extra dose of Bollywood to uplift the enthusiasm of Sangeet.

On the other hand, the awe-striking neon décor with a gigantic stage was something unconventional. From the material, patterns, furniture to lounge setup, the venue had its uniqueness multiplying the overall look and feel of the Sangeet. The tensile structures were created with the fabric and in addition to the LED backdrop on stage, it also had an LED hanging at an angle.

The entertainment quotient was at its peak as Shalmali Kholgade and Rajdeep Chatterjee, a tandem of talents set the night on a buzz. All in all, it was a unique experience for everyone.

Eco-friendly Baraat

Avoiding the discomfort caused to the society in general, the family happily accepted the idea of hosting a Baraat Party rather than a conventional procession. A plot nearby the wedding venue was chosen to host the party which had double the fun than in a Baraat Procession. Ramji Gulati, the Party King pulled the right string making all the baraatis dance and hop with joy. Not only did everybody dance but the cool activities like Block Mehendi, Nail Art, Astrology, Caricature along with creative food stalls allowed all to extend their joy and exude the energy that was sort of contagious. There was no thumping sound on the roads or firecrackers in this baraat.

While Baraatis were joyously going to bring home the dulhania, it started raining.

Whimsical Garden Reception

The Whimsical Garden was almost set for the next day reception and right then bad weather demanded a change of venue. The huge setup standing beautifully on the ground drenched in the heavy rain and stormy winds.

This situation called for an emergency shift of the entire setup to an indoor venue. Right before 20 hours of the Reception, the team unanimously took up the challenge to shift this gigantic setup to another venue and completed the setup with zero compromises to any detail. It was a surprise for the family who did not expect the detailing and finesse with which this Whimsical Reception was executed in limited time. The décor looked subtly grand and glorious. The imported flowers and green turf adorned the stage and the bride and groom couch was entire floral. Even the seating arrangement was beautified with landscaping, adding to the feel of the garden; dining arrangements were segmented into Lounges and Roundtables.

Bride and Groom entry was executed in a chariot being welcomed by the family members who held pyros.

“Executing this wedding reception after the super successful sangeet on the neon string art concept was a challenge, especially because of the sudden Ojha cyclone and rains, it was a proactive call which we took long to the client to shift indoors just before less than 18 hours inspite of the entire set ready for the original outdoor site, but with great hard work and dedication, we were able to bring smiles to the couple and their families faces, after successfully implementing entire set indoors in less than 14 hours, utilising over 500 workforce. It's the warmth and human will which we all witnessed during the entire 14 hours, after seeing the entire set come alive just in time before the guests started coming in”, says Nisith Shah, Co-founder & Director Go Bananas.

A unique Sangeet, eco-friendly baraat, and a change of venue due to heavy showers - this wedding had it all but still remained exceptional!
