Event Crafter Taalbelia

After matching the heritage and ancient royal charm of Mandawa with a world class mix of music, art, and culture its debut edition, Taalbelia, one of the newest music festival properties in India, from the house of Event Crafter is sizzling with updates on its second edition, slated to be held from December 23 to 25, 2017 at Mandawa, Rajasthan.

In an exclusive conversation with EVENTFAQS, Siddhartha Chaturvedi - CEO, Event Crafter spills beans on what makes the second edition of the property exciting.

What is in store for the audiences in the second edition of Taalbelia and what can they expect from it?

The second edition of Taalbelia is yet again set to offer its audiences a truly immersive experience in music at the backdrop of the arty town of Mandawa with the best of cuisines to offer in a boutique environment. When audiences come to this festival, they go back healed with music, having bonded with their loved ones and far richer with experience of staying in a boutique residential festival like this.

Keeping the experience of executing the first edition in mind, what new elements have you added to the second edition of the festival?

We've begun Taalbelia 2.0 from right where we left the first edition, on a high. The first destination festival of this year will also be the last one! The stages will be more engaging and serene, music will be even more diverse and liberating. Activities will increase, and workshops will be lot more fun. So, will be the sumptuous cuisines from the royal kitchen. This edition, Kommune also comes and joins in curating a special storyteller session for Taalbelia.

How has the lineup for the second edition of the festival has been curated? What's so exciting about it?

I will say that this line up is more evolved. We have some great collaborations happening for the first time, some awesome artist rediscovering their own passion. A lot is happening at Taalbelia this year. We have Mohit Chauhan, who will sing his 'pahaadi folk' rather than his versatile and super hit Bollywood numbers.

The Manganiar legend Gazi Khan is curating a big ensemble named 'Desert Symphony' for the festival, you must watch out for this act.

Rock legends ' Indus Creed' collaborate with 'Grandpa hotpants' Lou Majaw, this one is special for me to see these two absolute legends coming together. Another great collaboration to watch out will be between Prem Joshua and band with Mahesh Vinayakram, the only singer from the first rhythm family of the country.

Grain is putting together a great collaboration for the festival alongside Komorebi, Curtain Blue, etc. He might pull a rabbit out of his hat to surprise people further. Maati Baani comes to this festival with their amazing collaborations one with Mooralala the Kutchy folk musician will be special. Monica Dogra hits this stage with a completely new sound, which will be so much fun.

Then we again have a diverse mix of Raja Kumari's hip-hop to absolute legends of Reggae music in India, Reggae Rajahs to evergreen Ankur and the Ghalat Family to the band creating waves across the globe 'Madboy Mink’ with their funk. Watch out for Namit Das who is better known as an actor, to see how good he sings with a trained classical voice. Another power loaded performance will be of Anand Bhaskar Collective, who are the next big thing and are here to stay for sure. We have legendary Bhanwari Devi and Sawan Khan Managniyar singing funky Rajasthani folk for us. While our late-stage acts will have very talented EDM acts like Sound Avtar, Su Real, Mojojojo, Malfnktion, each of them are unique to their style of music they produce. I am yet to announce the lineup for the morning spiritual stage, which will be equally exciting.
