Considering the festival is held bearing Nature in mind, every aspect from the stage to the installations support and highlight the theme in some way. The festival is largely produced using upcycled and recycled materials so as to promote the power of recycling among participants. As the theme of the festival was 'Bugs of the Ecosystem' to celebrate the many creatures of nature, homage was paid to two of nature's wonders, Dragonfly and the Spider. The two stages were lit and decorated according to the theme. The first theme of the Dragonfly was created in collaboration with Artist Hemangini. The backdrop with the Dragonfly's wings are made up of intricate patterns to help the sunlight bounce off. The wings are made out of recycle scrap metal and fabric standing at 55 feet tall amidst the trees coupled with 3D projection mapping onto the wings to bring out a visual experience bar none.
The festival also paid homage to our cultural heritage in association with Karnataka Tourism, by creating the Toy Town stage: Channapatna. Taking inspiration from this ancient art of puppetry and toy making, this stage inspired by this tiny town of Channapatna boasts of a puppet standing over 60 feet tall. The stage is made out of bamboo and paper and also integrates a junked ‘Columbus Ship’ found across the toys hands. The various entry installations show the metamorphosis of a caterpillar into a butterfly and enforces the central theme of Bugs of The Ecosystem. Other installations like the 'Praying Mantis' crafted by Artist Tapanjeet Singh stands 24 feet and is crafted with scrap frames, pipes, rods, punched out sheets and a variety of scrap. The frame of the mantis is covered by automotive scrap, scrap metal sheets and other reclaimed materials. Some other installation like the Airwell by Abhijit Samant (focused on water conservation), Bob the Owl by Bheemstyx (reminding the audience of the majestic nature of owls) also reminded the audience of the theme.
The overall aim of the event was a celebration of the environment and the key motivation was for it to be a platform where artistes and eco-conscious people can showcase ecological ideas and concepts to the larger festival audience and create awareness of an alternate way of life. The festival also focused on waste management where the total quantity generated during the event along with Dry waste of about 1556 kg and wet waste of about 3695 kg (total 5242 kg) was segregated and transported to the Swachha DE-Centralized Farmer Linkage Yelahanka composting facility for the wet waste whereas the dry waste was transported to Bangalore's First Swachha BBMP Dry Waste Processing Center for further segregation and recycling.
