Punjabi Music Channel 9X Tashan organised the latest edition of its on-ground and on-air property Tashan Nites on September 6 at Chandigarh University Mohali with Farhan Akhtar, Gippy Grewal and several other performing artists including Preet Harpal, Sunanda Sharma, A Kay, Mehtab Virk and Amber Vashisht, who kept the audiences entertained with their high octane performances.

The robust line-up of artists ensured a massive turnout of over 15,000 people. The highlight of the evening was the musical rendition by Ranjit Bawa which kept the audiences gripped in spite of the heavy rainfall towards the end of the event.

Talking about the growth of the property, Himanshu Gupta, Programming Head, 9X Tashan said, “The audience turnout at Tashan Nites has grown exponentially over the years. Earlier Tashan Nites were held at popular nightclubs, which have been shifted to a full-size ground to accommodate the increasing number of patrons. The on-ground event is the most sought after platform not only for Punjabi artists to promote their songs and movies but also for Bollywood stars to promote their movies across Punjab.”

Sharing his experience performing with Farhan Akhtar at this event, Gippy Grewal said, “As the Movie ‘Lucknow Central’ is all set to hit the cinemas this September we needed the best platform to promote the movie across Punjab. We are delighted to have Tashan Nites as the apt platform to connect with our fans and give them a glimpse of Lucknow Central. When Farhan & I started singing the popular ‘Kaavan Kaavan’ song, we witnessed a heavy rainfall. However, that added a spark to our performance and we were stunned to see the audience’s excitement and enthusiasm. It is always a proud moment for us to perform at The ‘Tashan Nites’ and this year the love and madness of the crowd encouraged us to deliver a kickass performance!”

Tashan Nites is a property that’s held across North India on a regular basis, and has over the past five years become one of the most events where Punjabi singers and performers can connect with their fans. Even Bollywood celebrities such as Kangana Ranauat, Dharmendra, Sunny Deol, Akshay Kumar, Jimmy Shegill, Sonakshi Sinha, Sunny Leone, among others have been a part of Tashan Nites, to promote their movies. The on-ground event also gets aired on 9X Tashan for viewers who are unable to attend the event. Elaborating on what this property has achieved for the channel, Gupta said, “9X Tashan has been ruling the chartsand is the number one Punjabi Music Channel in India, since its launch in August 2011.  The Channel has always been the first choice for Punjabi Music by the fans of Punjabi Cinema across the Globe.
